RB's after a 2k yd season conclusion of that article? (1 Viewer)

I recall an article that discussed how well a RB did after a 2,000 yard season. Did it say they tend to get injured and have a poor season? Or was it on the number of carries?Just wondering if there should be concerns with Peterson.

Not a single 2000-yard rusher has gone on to rush for 2000 yards again in the next season. That's completely irrelevant as to whether Peterson should be the #1 overall pick next year (answer: yes).

My projections have him at 1,999 yards.

When Pam Oliver tells Peterson he missed beating Dickersons record by 9 yards in the post game interview Peterson once he realizes what she is talking about says oh well the record will last another year.I tend to not doubt Peterson when he sets a goal.

Adrian Peterson credited genetics for his amazing recovery from a December 2011 ACL tear. Not only did Peterson's ACL completely heal in eight months, but he ran for 2,097 yards on 348 carries while playing in all 16 games this season. "Look at my dad. And my mom's side, my aunts and uncles, they're all ripped. At 50 years old, they've got six packs and eight packs," Peterson said. "My body just heals differently. I know it has a lot to do with rehabilitation and work ethic -- but I really credit my genetics for my recovery as much as anything else." Fantasy owners expecting all players coming off ACL tears to burst back onto the scene like Peterson did are asking for trouble. He's a unique exception to the normal laws of medicine.
Tough betting against this guy after what he did this year. Not a normal RB....or even human for that matter. He's kind of a big deal.

yes, there's more than enough evidence to suggest a large regression in rushing yards for ADP for 2013..his career avg is 1474/season..before last year's dynamic 2097 yard season, only once in 6 years, had he rushed for more than 1383 yards..

.

The history of 2k backs suggests that he'll fall back to the pack in 2013, just as the others have..Most were seeing a 600+ yard drop-off the following season, some had much more than that..

I'd put him at his career avg of around 1400 yards..and that would still be third most in his entire career..2012 was the anomaly. For 2013, he's back to his usual self..

it's questionable as to whether or not he's the #1 fantasy pick...D. Martin, Foster, Brees, even Megatron are all worthy of the #1 spot..can't go wrong with any of them..
