Reality Sports Online (RSO) - Need some help (1 Viewer)

Hey guys,

I'm jumping into my first RSO startup next week, but there are some things I'm a little fuzzy about in their system that I was hoping someone could give me some clarity on (*drink*).

We're currently set to allow (2) 4-year contracts, (3) 3-year contracts and (4) 2-year contracts.  I'm wondering if that is the max number of multi-year contacts you can have on your squad for the life of the league?  Or does that setting just apply to the free agent draft (startup draft)?

In other words, will I need to cut a 2 year contract player to acquire another 2 year player through trade or waiver claim?  And I'm wondering how this affects the 2018 free agent draft of all the 1 year contracts that have expired.  Do I get 2 new 4-year contracts in 2018 to use in addition to the ones currently on my team?  I'm trying to figure out how I'm going to strategize, but knowing how the contracts work in the future is an important part of that.

Also, if you have learned anything from your RSO experience, feel free to send it along!! Tips, things to avoid, strategies, etc. . .

Thanks!

Or if you know anyone who has experience in RSO leagues, and would be willing to refer me to them, that would be great!

I started a thread asking a few questions in the "Looking for Leagues" forum so you might also ask your questions there.....

The idea of the setup there has always intrigued me as it seems like a pretty stream-lined way to deal with contracts. The fact I haven't heard much about the service makes me a little wary, though. Please let us know how you like it. Considering starting one of those leagues this year myself.

Awesome!  Thanks!  Great thread there.  I won a spot into Dynasty Tradecast's podcast listener league, and have been wanting to try RSO, but don't want to look like I'm totally clueless.  I'm in a bunch of dynasty leagues, but this is my first contract league.  And it's particularly unique with bidding for contracts in the startup, so i don't want to screw it up.

I actually connected with a writer for RSO on Twitter and he answered a bunch of my questions.  The length of contracts are available to assign each year when you have your free agent draft. After that you can acquire any amount of multi-year contracts through trade/waivers as you want, but the following year, when you bid on new free agents (from expired contracts), you can only bid the number of multi-year contracts that your league settings allow.  No need to drop a 2 year contract to acquire another player on a 2 year contract.

Make sense?
