Reassessing the Saints (1 Viewer)

It looks like the Saints are going to look a little different than we thought. The defense looks horrible. If Week 1 is any indication, the offense will be throwing all day and abandoning the run. So, how does this change things? Bump Colston, Moore, and Graham up and Sproles and Ingram down?

yeah. as a Colston and Graham owner this sound good to me.i do think brees will be great again too but I would expect some more ints because of the extra attempts

I think its all good news for any Saints offensive player except for the main running backs who not only will be splitting carries, but miss their all pro guard, Nicks.

Sproiles (ppr), especially is in good shape as he is pretty much guaranteed 5 - 6 garbage points a game when they are rapidly trying to play catch up.

Am I missing something? Isn't that exactly the same as last season?

Gotta upgrade Sproles if you expect NO to be passing/trailing often.

Snap counts bear this out:

PLAYER POS START OFF OFF PCT12-M.Colston WR Yes 60 80%80-J.Graham TE Yes 58 77%16-L.Moore WR Yes 56 75%43-D.Sproles RB Yes 50 67%13-J.Morgan WR No 40 53%19-D.Henderson WR Yes 35 47%45-J.Collins FB No 18 24%23-P.Thomas RB No 18 24%89-D.Graham TE No 16 21%85-D.Thomas TE No 15 20%28-M.Ingram RB No 9 12%Hard to put up stats from the sidelines.
Interesting (for deep leagues) that Joe Morgan got more snaps than Henderson.

And poor Ingram is still trailing behind Jed Collins. :wall:

Henderson left in the early 3rd quarter after taking a wicked shot to the head. Morgan picked up his snaps from there. Currently looking questionable for week 3. Probably contributed to Lance Moore getting all his points in the last 10:00 or so as well.

I see Sproles Moore and Graham being the recipients of Brees love this year.

Colston will still be a producer just due to shear numbers, but im sticking with my prediction that Moore finishes #2 in targets to Graham's #1.

Are we talking fantasy or football? Fantasy-wise I see the Saints being a pass happy offense, in part to the poor defense, in part because of Payton's absence. Football-wise it isgoing to be a long year for the Saints. Payton's absence is a BIG deal. Get your bags ready.
