At 929 EDT, Eisen on NFL Network says Gates wont know whether he's going until 30 minutes before the game. Given the deadlines for reporting actives, that doesnt sound right. At least I hope it's not.
Sometimes players make the active list, but end up a scratch just before the game.Sounds like that could be the case here.Fun decisions down to the wire.

Will Carroll mentioned on TWitter that it looks like Gates is playing

"is Gates playin' today? + Just sent in an update to SI. Looks like yes."
The News

Antonio Gates is expected to play today at Houston, according to Will Carroll's twitter page.

Our View

Keep in mind this isn't an official announcement, but it's a positive development. Gates is one of the toughest players in the league, and we expect him to play, but check back later in the morning for verification when the inactive lists start dropping.

CBS Fantasy webcast says Gates is OUT.

Rotoworld confirming:

Antonio Gates (toe, ankle, foot) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Texans.

San Diego Chargers TE Antonio Gates (foot) is inactive against the Houston Texans in Week 9, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Just to add to ealier reports of the same.

Nothing unecpected but both Gates and Floyd are listed as inactive on the official nfl horribly crafted interface for week 9 inactives. Naanee not on that list so I suppose he is a go.

Probably need to change the title to "Gates OUT" to reflect the current information so that people aren't misled and only rely on the title without clicking through the thread for the truth.

Who will see the most targets at TE since Gates is out. (Trying to figure out if McMichael is a better play this week than Donald Lee in GB.)
