Not looking for fantasy analysis, but rather insight from Cowboys fans (Dixon), and Bengals/Panthers fans (Hawkins) as well as IDP gurus, about what roles I can expect these two to potentially play.I experimented playing IDP several years ago, and scouted Hawkins when he played for the Bengals. At that time, I recall him being a serviceable starting CB. To the best of my knowledge, he's now probably more of a nickle back, situational starter - could he be a serviceable starter if pressed into duty, or the kind of type to challenge Walt Harris for the #2 job across from Springs while Rodgers gets up to speed? I'm a big fan of Garnell Wilds and I think Rufus Brown has some potential as well. I'd have to think Hawkins is a better option than Jimoh.Ourlads has Dixon listed as a SS, behind Bowen and Clark (who showed some skills last year)...right now the 'skins issues are with FS, where Pierson Priolau is running with the first team due to Sean the Knucklehead's legal issues, and Andre Lott's injury. I remember the Cowboys drafting Dixon out of 'bama, round 2, 2001, where he was a considered a bit of a reach, but a necessary addition due to an aging DWoodson and Teague. He was described then as a decent run defender, who might eventually evolve into a starter, but lacking great coverage skills. It can't be a good sign that he only lasted 4 seasons with a team that had a need. Is he more than a special teams body at this point? What say you, IDP'ers?
