Watched the Last Duel last week and thought it was great!
Any other suggestions?

Nightmare Alley has been one that has been suggested a bit in the other threads. I think it's on HBO and Hulu
I didn't expect him to pull off a movie like that, or a scene like that, but it's a fun ride. The bus scene....
Nobody with Bob Odenkirk on Hbo max
Just slightly? LOLWatched this recently as well. Thought it was just ok. Slightly depressing.
I've seen this as well.Nobody with Bob Odenkirk on Hbo max
Thought this was close to unwatchable.Watched Antlers which is free on HBO Max. It was worth watching if you like horror.
LOL Nobody recommended that! I could have told you it was pretty mediocre. I did like the score though (Johnny Greenwood strikes again).Watched 'You were never really here' last night
Joaquin Phoenix was great as usual, but the movie itself was a bore.
Anyone have some more recommendations?
I never even heard of this. I read the books and that seems to be why the reviews are so low – the book readers are pissed!!!!I watched The Dark Tower on plane yesterday and was entertained. Terrible reviews on RT but I would give it a solid 7.5/10. Idris Elba is awesome.

As a rule I don’t really get hyped for Stephen King movies. Very few of them that are even worth watching.I read the books and I knew there was a movie, but I have never seen it. I think I would be disappointed.

Anything really. No particular genre.LOL Nobody recommended that! I could have told you it was pretty mediocre. I did like the score though (Johnny Greenwood strikes again).
What kind of movie are you looking for since all of yesterday's recs were misses?
I'll check out the trailer.**ALERT***
it's not Julie Chrystie in Hopscotch... it's Glenda Jackson.
Sure! Haven't seen it.Do you like Dickens? Have you seen the David Lean Great Expectations?
Its on HBO Max and is probably the best Dickens adaptation. I mean, it's David Lean. Early Lean, 1946.Sure! Haven't seen it.

Disjointed plot, poor editing and unmemorable action sequences outside of the bus scene which was passable.Nobody with Bob Odenkirk on Hbo max

Odenkirk isn't an action hero and was having trouble handling hefting around the bad guys which is understandable now based on his recent heart attack.
Ive been wanting to check this out but I figure it'll be another King tale that doesn't translate well to the big screen, like usual. That series is nuts!I watched The Dark Tower on plane yesterday and was entertained. Terrible reviews on RT but I would give it a solid 7.5/10. Idris Elba is awesome. Oh - I rented on Amazon Prime for 4 bucks.
I enjoyed it as a standalone movie. If you've read the books it will probably disappoint though. That's usually the case with any move made from a book.I read the books and I knew there was a movie, but I have never seen it. I think I would be disappointed.
Awesome, I guess I don't need to watch Nightmare Alley now.

LOL I will say I don't think that is much of a spoiler. At no point in the movie would anyone ever think "oh this psychiatrist and this con man seem to have a real genuine relationship, I bet they will treat each other very well"![]()
Right!?! WTF.
Yeah I honestly think the positive vibes around it were related to: people really liking Odenkirk and wanting to support him and it being released in the heart of the pandemic when there weren't many new movies coming out. I watched it on HBO recently and kept waiting for some kind of interesting twist or something else to happen. Nope, just a really old guy going video game mode beating up tons of people. ZZZZzzzzDisjointed plot, poor editing and unmemorable action sequences outside of the bus scene which was passable.

The kid was terrible. Couldn't they find someone with an authentic accent? And he was supposed to be a tough street kid? I fast forwarded through most of the second half.Don’t watch the Clint Eastwood flick, Cry Macho. I mean, unless you like plotless movies and subpar acting.
Yeah I don't get the love for the movie. Even the bus scene - which was great action - didn't make much sense. I mean the russian guys were drunk and obnoxious but they weren't hurting anyone or even threatening to (if I'm remembering correctly) before Odenkirk went into action. Also any movie that relies on a super old man (Christopher Llyod) coming in and kicking ### and shooting up bad guys for comedic effect has run out of ideas.Disjointed plot, poor editing and unmemorable action sequences outside of the bus scene which was passable.
