reggie brown and stallworth (1 Viewer)

Reggie Brown has been very consistent this season, scoring 6 tds, but how will his numbers be affected with stallworth looking to play next week. Has reggie brown taken the number 1 wr role by gaining mcnabb's trust, or is stallworth going to be the number 1 wr for the eagles?

Donte' Stallworth, WR PHI

News: Eagles coach Andy Reid said Monday that WR Donte Stallworth, who is battling a nagging hamstring strain, has "a pretty good chance" of playing in Week 8 vs. Jacksonville. Stallworth has missed four of the Eagles' last five games after getting 222 yards and 2 TDs in the team's first two outings.

Analysis: If you own Stallworth, your patience in benching him could be paying off. He would be a great start vs. the Jaguars in Week 8, so wait and see what his status is before setting your lineup.

That is from cbs.

I didn't think he would this year, but Brown has really stepped it up with Stallworth out. A week or two ago, I would have definitely said Stallworth is #1 when he comes back. But now, I'm not so sure. What I do know is, Philly will continue to throw and I think both of these guys will get theirs. Stallworth is a must start when he comes back IMO.

:goodposting: I have Reggie Wayne, and I don't worry about whether or not he's the #1 or if its Marvin Harrison. The way the Eagles are throwing the ball now, I agree that both will get their's. I also own McNabb AND Reggie Brown....plus Torry Holt. I've nick-named my team "Air Assault" since all of my points come from the passing game. :D It's my ground game that's sketchy... McGahee, Green, Rhodes

You're right. If I owned Holt and Bruce, I'd just flip a coin to decide the starter on my FF team.

Are you suggesting the Rams offense labels Holt #1 and Bruce #2, and throws to him more because of this? Not because hes more talented?

:goodposting: They throw to the guy who gets open. Not "WR #1" or "WR #2" -- agree with you, the label is dumb.

Same guy who was #1 since the start: Brown. McNabb even said so early in the season after Stallworth's big game 1 and before Stallworth got injured.

I would imagine that if he can practice, he will play. But then the question is how long until he gets hurt? By halftime?

Eagles | Stallworth practices Wednesday

Wed, 25 Oct 2006 11:33:25 -0700

Bob Kent, of PhiladelphiaEagles.com, reports Philadelphia Eagles WR Donte' Stallworth (hamstring) practiced Wednesday, Oct. 25.

Okay.....since many of you think that labeling WR1 and/or WR2 are of little or no importance.....here's a better question.

If you owned both...AND McNabb...would you be comfortable starting both Stallworth AND Reggie Brown as long as McNabb continues to put up great numbers?

As of now.....I would....just as I'd start both Harrison & Wayne (not saying either of the Eagles WR's are equal to Harrison).

But who's your kicker???

And I don't think I will sleep well tonight unless I know who his backups are.

He can say whatever he wants but anyone who saw the first two games knows that Stallworth was the #1 receiver on the field.

I think the number 1 and 2 labels are pretty important in the big picture.

Say you're playing Denver, a team's number one wr is going to have to face Champ.

So the more important question is who are the opposing teams going to consider the number one and thus put the better corner on.

I remeber watching the Gaints-Eagles game and the annoucer saying that McNabb still considered Brown his #1 but I do agree that Stallworth was McNabb's #1 read in the first game. But realize that before that game, McNabb had very little regular-season experience with Reggie Brown and I have to think that McNabb just didn't have any specific confidence in Reggie Brown yet. Brown really only emerged last year after McNabb was shut-down for the year. I have to figure that the last 7 games have given McNabb a lot of confidence in what Brown can do.. I don't doubt that Stallworth will get his, but I believe that Reggie Brown will continue to get 6-7 balls thrown his way per game. As I've said before, I see Reggie Brown as the Donald Driver, steady and dependable although the other WR gets more press coverage.

Interesting question, I am in this situation. I also have 2 other good WRs in my PPR league, so I'll have to choose between Brown and Stallworth on a weekly basis. It was almost better for me when Stallworth was out.

Here ya go, my full roster:D McNabb

A Smith

A Brooks

W McGahee

D Rhodes

A Green

D Williams

T Holt

R Wayne

R Brown

R Moss

D Gabriel

J Wilkins

D Rayner

Chargers

Panthers

I drafted 10th in a 12-team redraft. Based on the mediocrity at RB this year, I decided to go for WRs in the early rounds. It's paid off somewhat, but the value I got in McNabb is what's fueling my team. Worst part is I have the worst luck in the world:

*CowboysFromHell (4-3); Total points = 867; Total points against = 817

Alien Nation (5-2); 775; 605

Mel's Box (5-2); 655; 561

Blasters (5-2); 645; 601

Harleys (4-3); 630; 637

Bud (4-3); 617; 592

Freaks (4-3); 643; 649

Short (4-3); 629; 593

Ellis (3-4); 624; 717

Slapdick (2-5); 601; 670

DavidLs (1-6); 557; 689

Scott (1-6); 560; 672

I should be at least 6-1! :wall:

I know Stallworth was targetted the most, and I know that he got open and did a lot with the ball. That's all well and good. But he was the shiny new penny then. When he returns, maybe he'll be the shiny new penny for a little while, too. In the long run, though, I think it's Brown.

as i've stated above.. Donte will get his but I'd be shocked if Donovan forgot how good Brown has been over the past 6 weeks
