Ray Didinger was on WIP this morning...

one of the questions asked of him is why he thought Brown wasn't used...

he said the eagles philosophy is to throw to the receivers who are getting open

this week it was Avant and Curtis but next week it could be different receivers

he said the eagles have no true #1, #2 or #3 receiver..

he said all 3 of them are considered to be even by the coaching staff

and since avant is being covered by the lesser defensive player - he might end up with more targets

---

this doesn't mean brown won't have big games... i just think it's going to be hard to know when he's going to have one...

Isnt most if not all teams philosophy to get the ball to the receivers who are open?

sure... but most teams don't execute it as well as philly (spreading the ball around to open receivers instead of forcing it to the 'name' receiver)...i also think the word 'getting' should be looked at as maybe (and this may be a reach) the eagles will adjust their play calling if someone isn't running good routes and is being covered good early on to get them less looks as the game goes on and more looks to the players who are getting open... sounds like simple logic... but again i think a lot of teams might say they want to do stuff like this, but it's another thing to execute it or have faith in a #3 instead of your #1.
