Reggie Brown undrafted! (1 Viewer)

I know he isn't Moss and that he's got the bad hammy, but going undrafted in a 12 team league with 6 WR per makes no sense. What am I missing? Would appreciate an update from homers or anyone esle with insight into his injury or status with team/coaches.

i just grabbed him in the 13th round of a 12 team keeper league.... i thought it was good value. his adp late 9th round.

No reason to go undrafted, he's worthy of a spot this year. I wouldn't be happy starting him as a WR3, but he'd be good WR depth. Sometimes guys just slip. :mellow:

He went undrafted in my 12 team 1PPR league as well. I was thinking of dropping one of the guys in my sig for him, just don't know whom to drop. Might be Clayton, especialy if he shows ZERO this week against that Cincy D.

this doesn't make any sense. Last year he was a mid round pick and 3rd year breakout candidate. McNabb wasn't right at the beginning of the season and most of his throws to Brown were off target. I picked him up very late in one league and am starting him week 1 (for Marshall) against that bad Rams secondary. For some reason people think Desean Jackson is going to immediately step into a WR1 role and take all the balls I guess :dunno:

People are down on him because;

a) he was hyped last year and he did live up to expectations.

b) some fans/commentators think that he didn't display the ability to get separation--a skill that you need to show regularly to be a featured WR in NFL.

c) he has been injured this off season and did not do much in preseason

d) general negativity about PHI offense

e) people love the "new" guy and this year it is Desean Jackson.

Reasons why I am hopeful that he will have a productive, if not great, year:

a) With Curtis out he will get lots of targets and Jackson is still a rookie and a smallish one at that.

b) preseason? Meh. It means almost nothing for a vet.

c) his producivity last year improved at the end of the year as McNabb finally recovered from his own injury. McNabb is healthy this year...for now.

d) this is his fourth year--lots of WRs emerge in third and fourth years. Last year Roddy White emerged in his third year after looking pretty disappointing previously.

The opportunity is there with Curtis' injury and with the return to health of McNabb--he will do well if McNabb does well. He is a good buy cheap pick.

People over value preseason performance. It is a totally different game when first stringers are out there and when the game plan and play calling is real. I think Desean Jackson will have a role and will contribute, but he is too small to be a featured Wr at this point and he will struggle at times. PHI has no choice but to lean on Brown. He isn't great but he is the best they have right now.

Didn't draft him because I thought maybe I missed an injury update and it was worse than thought. That's why I was asking. Thanks for everyone's input. Now I have to decide who to waive.
