Thanks! After watching Campbell get injured last night for my team I was due some luck as my opponent has Bush! Here.Anyone got a link?FWIW, it is on Rotoworld. You need to move FAST to get Stecker if you want him
Does it? He'd be losing one of the best RB receiving options in the league.Brees' value goes up a bit as they will be throwing more most likely.
wow, really? so much for the Gale Sayers comparisons, this guy is David Meggett with a little more juice..Just heard on the MIke Tirico show. Torn ligaments in the knee. awaiting 2nd opinion.
I'm on record as saying (and adamantly defending the opinion) that Bush is likely to be marked as "Injury Prone" (as overused and erroneous as the term is) by the end of the season (before Deuce went down even).... so unfortunately, I agree w/ you wholeheartedly.Bush will never carry the ball 200 times in a year in the NFL.
a) He sucks at running the ball
b) He can't physically do it
It is only a torn PCL?? He should be fine!Reggie Bush-RB-Saints Dec. 7 - 3:10 pm et Saints coach Sean Payton confirmed Friday that Reggie Bush has a torn PCL in his left knee, but is hopeful Bush can play on Monday night."If you just study the history of PCL injuries, I know they vary with each player, but it is an injury that you come back from," Payton said. "We'll monitor where he's at." Bush practiced without restrictions on Thursday, but felt sore on Friday and that led to an MRI which revealed the damage. The odds still seem heavily against Bush playing versus the Falcons.Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune
Brees will be going deep more often than he has in the past...Reggie just gets swing passes which will not be there a whole lot anymore. Believe DATDoes it? He'd be losing one of the best RB receiving options in the league.Brees' value goes up a bit as they will be throwing more most likely.
He's not better physically pertaining to this injury than he was 3 weeks ago - and his results have been piss poor. So I disagree that he will be fine as a producer. It is only a torn PCL?? Gale Sayers had a knee injury too.wow, really? so much for the Gale Sayers comparisons, this guy is David Meggett with a little more juice..Just heard on the MIke Tirico show. Torn ligaments in the knee. awaiting 2nd opinion.
There is another thread specifically for you to get your jollies bashing Reggie Bush's skills as a running back. This thread is about the injury, no need to pollute it. Thanks. Each game I am more and more convinced that Reggie Bush is much closer to an Eric Metcalf than a future star RB.
No and especially if they lose one more game and eliminate themselves from the playoffs. Plus the Saints offensive line is good at one thing- Pass protection. They suck at run blocking. McCallister and Bush's numbers suffered this year because there were no holes. Dont ask me why because these guys did well blocking last year.Anybody think that Stecker could actually put up better fantasy numbers than Bush since he will probably get more carries per game for a higher ypc and might get all of Bush's receptions as well?I actually doubt that Stecker will get all of Bush's receptions since the offense will probably adjust away from Bush's strengths and weaknesses and run plays that fit Steckers strengths and weaknesses instead. I've read that Stecker is an decent runner and a good receiver but I just assume that he's not as good a receiver as Bush. Stecker will probably be more effective in short yardage situations as well so even though it sounds crazy I'm thinking that Stecker is probably an upgrade from Bush's fantasy numbers.
Running game slight upgrade ... RB receiving slight downgrade (Stecker is a good receiver out of the backfield) ... overall break even.Stecker should put up about the same points as Bush only without the hype.Saints running game gets an upgrade.
He'd be losing 34.8 yds per game and about .16 tds per game ... Stecker averages 10.6 in limited playing time. This will not hurt the Saints running or passing game at all.Does it? He'd be losing one of the best RB receiving options in the league.Brees' value goes up a bit as they will be throwing more most likely.
McCallister didn't play long enough this year to compare his numbers to last year.McCallister and Bush's numbers suffered this year because there were no holes. Dont ask me why because these guys did well blocking last year.
you have recordsMan RB's are just getting crushed this year. According to my records there are only 24 RB's who played in all 12 of the first games:Adrian Peterson CHIBrian LeonardClinton PortisDeAngelo WilliamsDeShaun FosterEarnest GrahamEdgerrin JamesFred TaylorJulius JonesJustin FargasKenton KeithKevin FaulkLaDainian TomlinsonLadell BettsLenDale WhiteMarion BarberMaurice DrewMusa SmithReggie BushReuben DroughnsThomas JonesWarrick DunnWillie ParkerWillis McGahee
It pains me to think of how often I've heard that since I drafted him 1.01 in my dynasty league last year. Each game I am more and more convinced that Reggie Bush is much closer to an Eric Metcalf than a future star RB.
Agreed. With the emergence of the Thursday games, you have to change this rule.
I think your league should definitely have that rule changed. So my league settings lock rosters at the start of the first game of the week. As of game time on Thursday, Bush was a go. Now he is very doubtful, and there is nothing I can do about it. He is in my RB2 position, and he probably won't play.I posted a league message a few weeks ago about this being a stupid rule, and now I'm getting burned by it.What is the general consensus regarding entire rosters locking at the start of the first game? Personally I think it sucks. and I would think it sucks even if I were not a Bush owner. And yes, I know...![]()
They weren't much better run blocking last year either, they were just able to mask it better with their gimmicky offense keeping defenses off balance, and teams' (unnecessary) fear of Bush leaving other lanes open.I said all offseason that this group is one of the worst run-blocking lines in the league, and that if their offense wasn't fooling people any more they were going to be exposed for it, which they have been.bushisdaman said:No and especially if they lose one more game and eliminate themselves from the playoffs. Great analogy. However, he better be as durable as Metcalf. The Browns mishandled his talent for years. Bush would not last more than a few years getting sent between the tackles that many times.Warhogs said:Each game I am more and more convinced that Reggie Bush is much closer to an Eric Metcalf than a future star RB.
Reggie Bush-RB-Saints Dec. 7 - 9:25 pm et A league source tells Profootballtalk.com that Reggie Bush believes he tore his PCL over a month ago and won't play again this year. Then maybe he should've had the MRI when he first thought he got hurt. Bush wasn't shaking defenders consistently early in the season, so if he was playing through a torn PCL the last four weeks, few would've noticed.Source: Profootballtalk.com
Reggie Bush-RB-Saints Dec. 7 - 7:24 pm et FOXSports.com's Jay Glazer reports Reggie Bush (torn PCL) will not play Monday night against the Falcons. It appears that coach Sean Payton's "hopeful" outlook for Bush's chances of playing this week was gamesmanship. However, Glazer adds that reports Bush is lost for the season are premature. He'll head to Alabama Monday for a second opinion on the knee and could return before Week 17.Source: FOXSports.com
I caught that as well. But, I haven't seen in print yet....could be a matter of time. But as a Bush owner, you have to hold onto hope until you have a confirmation. I was able to grab Stecker and have the advantage of a first round bye. Worst case scenario for me would be Bush being out for multiple weeks, and have the Saints backfield turn into a 2-3 headed monster. I would prefer not to cut someone with value for Pierre Thomas, but am starting to give it some thought. Keep hope alive.Anybody else just catch the NFL Network NOW update?Just heard word for word "Adam Schefter is reporting that Bush will miss the rest of the year". I know it's been speculated, but has this been confirmed?
Head coach Sean Payton says that Reggie Bush could play this Sunday. He will be evaluated on Wednesday, but the rehab is going well.
Saw that too, is it worth picking him back up or are we looking at limited carries at best?Per a headline on wwltv.com (I'm guessing it came from today's press conference)...

exactly. it wouldn't surprise me in the least if they reverted to a similar gameplan that was in plce for deuce and reggie. stecker has shown his effectivess and utility. reggie can return to his more nebulous niche role that proved effective last season.I've got Bush and Stecker and really hope that Reggie just sits out another week unless he's near 100 percent. Steckie's been a big help moving the chains as the Saints have seen that slow and steady wins the race.
