Reggie Bush PPR GOLD or PPR BUST? (1 Viewer)

Im A Rookie

Footballguy
Picked up Reggie Bush with my 82nd pick in PPR league. Am I the only believer? 2 years ago he carried me in PPR and was a late 3 to early 4th round selection, now hes been long forgotten. PPR gold at 82 or PPR bust?

I think it's a good pick with some upside, but I wouldn't call him PPR gold.

His reception total has gone done each of the last four years (88, 73, 52, 47). I'm sure a lot of that is circumstance, but I think he'll be closer to the 52 than the 88.

5.5, 6.1, 5.2, 3.8- in terms of receptions per game its not such a linear decline. The 3.8 might be the aberration in which case he is ppr gold but there are reasons to suspect it might be his new usage pattern. 1. Using him less kept him on the field for 14 games- more than the past two years.2. The number of targets in the Saints passing game is increasing. Two years ago Colston and Shockey were hurt and Meachem was in his first year.

If you are getting him at 82 that is a great gamble...his season last year was just o.k, but if we can take anything away from the explosive Saints offense the last two years it is that they usually just go with the hot hand in anygiven year. There is no reason to believe that Bush could not be the man, plus if their punt and kick coverage teams are good, you will be getting a couple scores from that angle. Good bet, imo.

yea i think if bush can stay healthy he will bounce back and have 1200 yards from scrimmage 60 catches and 10 tds well worth 82nd overall

Every player means something different in the context of the team that is drafted around him. If you drafted a solid RB1/RB2, then perhaps Bush is a great RB3 with upside. But if you drafted Bush to pair with someone like Shonn Greene as your RB2 you might be in trouble. And since we can't really put entire rosters into here and ask the SP how we did, maybe you might get more feedback in the Coach's Forum or drop Jeff Tefertiller a PM, he is really good at finding holes on your roster. There are threads already on Reggie Bush including the player spotlight that Jason Wood puts up, might want to check in there.
