Reggie Bush (1 Viewer)

In a PPR, he is definitely worth a spot unless you play in leagues with short benches and under 12 teams. Will you trot him out on a weekly basis...doubt it, but he has more value on a week-in, week-out basis than guys like McKnight/Powell, Ridley, and C.J. Spiller, and that is just his own division.

Interesting post. Thanks for sharing. I had to decide last night between dropping either R. Bush or CJ Spiller to pick up Ocho off the wire. Now I know Ocho is dogfood about now, but I'm willing to wait to be rewarded for having on the tail of my bench. I chose CJ for the same reason you mention. Even though I am an F. Jackson owner. I reasoned that at least Bush had the opportunity to have a big stat game in game one, but Spiller is a weak handcuff that has never had the chance that Bush had. If Thomas goes in the doghouse or gets injured, things could change quickly and Bush may be back to the workload he had in week 1. Besides, he's a little gimpy right now. He's only a stash and hope player, but the options on the waiver wire are similar but with less upside. If there was a waiver wire player I could plug and play, I'd dump Bush for him. But I agree that Bush's situation and upside make him more valuable than any of those waiver wire/backup RB's you mentioned.

I have been waiting around for this guy to get going for 3 years now in my dynasty league.

This week I almost cut him for a backup D-lineman.

I dropped him in my league and he cleared waivers. He's still sitting there as a free agent.

Someone picked up Kendall Hunter but left Reggie alone at Pizza Hut.

It's probably true that he has more value week in/week out. But If he is just going to sit on your bench then why not drop him and pick up someone with actual upside. I dropped Bush, and have Powell on my roster. Bush got a chance and did nothing with it, so he is never going to get a start from me. But maybe Powell or Ridley get a chance and they "run" with it. Then you will be glad you have the upside guy and not the weekly 4 point player.

Granted Gore has a gimpy ankle & Hunter could get a shot, he looked good in limited action last week. Thing is, I got lucky and picked up Daniel Thomas off waivers and i'm thinking that Bush is only an injury away from Thomas missing action and being back in the mix. Slaton was an interesting pick-up for Miami. He is similar to bush out of the backfield.Let's all be realistic about the AFC East, It's a very strong division. However,Who is a better RB waiver wire pick-up right now than Reggie Bush in the AFC East ?Jets - Green/Tomlinson - not availableBills - Jackson/Spiller - not availablePats - Law firm - Ridley/Vereen are interesting prospects. It's Belichk, so who knows?Fish - Thomas looks good, who will be the # 2 or starter in Miami if Thomas misses time?Just food for thought. All the best,

Daniel Thomas hammy issue today.

Miami Dolphins RB Daniel Thomas (hamstring) was limited in practice Thursday, Sept. 29.

Just saying, you saw week 1 which was great for PPR for Bush. He's still a handcuff for an unproven rookie.

Maybe Thomas & Bush are both broke and Slaton is the shark move? NOT!

Whatever Miami does, it better be a win, an 0-4 start would not be good.

Someone dropped Starks in my league a couple days ago so I scooped him up this morning as a FA, happily dropping Reggie Bush! Finally....This quote right here tells all... lol.

Unless your scoring system gives points for disappointment, leave him on the WW.

I have a hard time understanding why anyone thinks potential lotto tickets Powell and Ridley deserve a roster spot over R. Bush.

Powell hasn't even been on the active gameday line all year, and does nothing particularly better than S. Greene. A lot of things have to fall into place soon to warrant collecting a Powell on your roster. It seems easy to carry him now, but just wait for the bye weeks to come. If his situation hasn't changed by then, you can expect that he'll drop to the wires very quickly. It's important to look a few weeks ahead and see the moves that must be made, and will be forced to made because of injury/byes/demotions, etc. Rookie handcuff RB's with unclear roles usually don't survive the bye week rosters.

Ridley is riding in a 4 RB NE RBBC purgatory. Though the NE offense is a potent one, holding that last roster spot for any NE RB in the hopes of reliable or consistent production is a fools game. At least 2 of them have to get hurt for anyone to be valuable.

R. Bush is an injury away (or poor Thomas performance)from going back to his week #1 role, and that is a much more clearly defined role. He can be frustrating, but when at full health, he's performed well. This instinct to drop Bush because he is disappointing is nothing but a petty spite driven move. Savvy owners are patient and know that he's a vet handcuff that will probably get his shot earlier than those other potential rookie lotto stash and hope RB's.

The reason is because many here don't know what Ridley or Powell would do if given the opportunity to carry the load. A lot of people think they know what Bush can do. It's the same reason Thomas Jones is on waivers in one of my leagues but Stevan Ridley and Delone Carter are rostered.

Because a lotto ticket is better than a heaping pile of dung... the excitement of the scratch > the smell of stenchWhen in doubt, roll with the upside. Reggie left his back at USC.

Pass, that wonderful coach in miami doesnt have a clue what he is doing. Lets trade for him then stick him on the bench. And hey, while we're at it lets go get steve slaton who was 25th on the depth chart in houston. No wonder miami sucks every year.

I really wish I could bring myself to drop him but with Thomas gimpy I'm forced to hold at least one more week.

If Thomas doesn't play, which at this point seems likely, I don't care how bad Bush is, he is pretty bad, he is a top 30 play in non-ppr and top 20 in ppr. Let's not forget when Thomas was inactive week 1 Bush had 9 receptions. The Dolphins will obviously throw more without Thomas and that will play to Bush's strength, even though it's a weak strength. Obviously Slaton's role will be something to monitor if Thomas' injury keeps him out multiple weeks.

Just when I thought I was out, they pull me back in. Gonna roll with Reggie. If he ##### the bed on Sunday, Thomas' position is much more secure. This could very well be his last chance to do something.

So, is anyone starting him this week? I'd like to, as my only other option is Ingram. If so, over whom are you starting Bush?
Starting Bush in PPR flex over one of A.J. Green, Brandon Lloyd, David Nelson or Percy Harvin. I have to decide which two of those four WRs I will start, first, though...I think Bush has more upside in this format than Harvin, possibly Nelson thanks to the matchups Lloyd and Green have.

I'm starting him, but on a horrible team with few options. Otherwise I'd probably have him on the bench.
