Throwing his QB under the bus for his failure as a coach to adjust....and not attempt to run some draws, screens etc to offset a constant blitz.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with the sentiment, but maybe Vick did not recognize the blitzes and if he did he was to audible to say .... draws, screens, etc. It did seem strange that Reid never went that way to slow the blitz down, but maybe this is part of the reason why. You do want your QB to recognize the blitz and audible to these plays.

This all depends on how Kolb does today. The better he does the shorter the leash for Vick. This is a great move by Reid. It gives Kolb a reason to play, it gives Vick motivation, and it puts some doubt into the gameplan of whoever they face in the playoffs. Any defensive gameplan will go out the window when you switch Vick and Kolb.

because what you want is your starting qb to be tight in the playoffs.

I have no idea if Vick was any good in captivity, but he's survived in the wild pretty well so far.
