Remaining Free Agents of Significance? (1 Viewer)

With Ty Law's signing, there are really no more big ticket free agents left - except if you count Kerry Collins.

THere are a few free agents whose names have been mentioned throughout the off season (or who have just been released). Any word on where they'll go.

These are the ones I can think of:

QB Kerry Collins visited Titans

RB Jonathon Wells people debate him on the board, but not linked to anyone

OT Todd Wade released by Texans. . haven't heard if teams interested

Adam Meadows Signed with Denver

C Jeff Mitchell was released by Panthers early . . don't think he's signed

DT Grady Jackson originally linked to Rams, now linked to Dolphins

Dan Wilkenson name is linked to Dolphins usually

Brentson Buckner possibly back to Carolina if needed

DB Dwight Smith signed with Minnesota

Ahmed Plummer relaesed early .. retired per CBS and Sirius

Dexter McCleon signed by Houston

I realize most of these guys would have little impact, but I would think there would be interest. I think Collins still can start in this league, but I don't see the Titans putting a deal together.

I suspect that Miami will sign one of the DTs, and I think that Big Daddy would be the best fit.

I also think the Saints and Chargers could use another veteran OT.

Of the remaining players, I think Smith can still play a major role as a nickelback and solid backup/starter as a safety.

I realize that Smith was just released, but has anyone heard much about these other guys?????

Are there other free agents that come to mind that are of interest?

I'm really interested on where Collins might go.

Which teams could he go into and not need to learn the offense? SF? NYG? BAL?

Guessing none of those are candidates.

I would think he could jump right in and start in Buffalo. He has a big arm that could survive the winter.

I think he could wind up with the Vikings.

Not much fantasy impact but;

Mike Minter was on NFL Network a couple of weeks ago and indicated the

Panthers would probably bring Brenson Buckner back after camp if they

had room.

I think Cleveland would be a good place for COllins to sign. That's a number 2 job w/ a chance to be #1. I don't see him going to Tennesse since Mauck is likely to lock up the #3 job. I also think that he could end up in Houston backing up Carr, but that's a longshot.

I agree that Collins makes sense in Cleveland. Dorsey is not a quality backup; but I do not think Collins is ready to be relegated to a backup role. If he wants to keep playing, he needs to think backup (like Griese) in a spot that affords him an opportunity.I also agree that Tennessee makes little senes. The initial rumors had interest by the Titans, but with Volek, Young and Mauck, he makes little sense unless they traded Volek - which I cannot see happening.

Adam Meadows signed with Denver. I really did not see that coming.

I wonder if this was an effort to keep him out of KC - who would seem more OT needy at this point.

The opportunity to start would have to be better in Miami or New Orleans.

I am guessing the opportunity to win a ring was the big reason. But Denver may surprise and it may be money.
