Report: Austin Collie unlikely to face Chiefs

ESPN's John Clayton reports that Austin Collie (foot) is likely to miss Sunday's game against Kansas City.

We'd take his report with some caution. Clayton is shaky in his weekly "medical report" on SportsCenter and if Collie practices Friday Clayton's tune would probably change. Check back for an update this afternoon. If Collie does not play, Pierre Garcon would become a worthwhile WR3. Oct. 8 - 12:34 pm et

Would Garcon be a better play than White? In limited viewing of the Colts, I've seen more on field time from B White than Garcon.

Garcon is practicing now.Pierre Garcon (hamstring) practiced fully for a second straight day Thursday. The questions over Garcon's role may be moot if Austin Collie (foot) misses this week's game. Beat writer Phil Wilson now believes that Garcon could start with a full complement of snaps with Collie possibly sitting out.Source: Phil Wilson on Twitter Looks like Garcon is a decent start this week.

IMO, Garcon's the much better play.White was only in there because Garcon was out due to injury.

My luck this year has been SILLY... (silly *good* for once).

I'm playing the Collie owner this week, and I have Garcon.

Last week, I played the Andre Johnson owner. He missed the game with a bum ankle.

In week 7, I play the Peyton Manning/Arian Foster owner. Indy and Houston are off that week!

Because I know you were wondering.....

Does this increase Addai's value at all? He gets split out plenty of times and seems to be the target in the redzone (running or passing).

As someone who paid $19 for Garcon and Gonzalez in the Subscriber, but didn't pay the extra bones for Collie, this is excellent news. Just because I knew all of you wanted to know about my subscriber team!!!

Just scooped Garcon up off the waiver wire and will start him with confidence over D. Bowe and D. Bryant. If Collie is out, Garcon will have a monster game. Look for Manning to throw 3-4 TD’s and for 300+ yards. Wayne and Clark will get theirs, but plenty left for Garcon.

That's good to know, but this is a Collie thread.

Very curious as to how this shakes out. Will the Colts leave Garcon in "Garcon's spot" and White fills in for Collie? Will Garcon take Collie's spot in the offense and White backfill for him. Will White be left out entirely? Are Garcon/Collie so interchangeable in the offense that it doesn't really matter who is lining up where? Pretty hard to predict IMO.

In life, sometimes one thing affects another. When that occurs, there is this other thing called relevance.

FYI - I got an "A" in my Evidence class. I can safely conclude your opinion of a prophesied monster game for Garcon tells me nothing about whether Collie practiced today. Just waiting for "relevant" news. :lmao:

there is no mystery . . .Garcon has always started on the right side . . . plus his skillset (outisde speed) suits that position . . .assuming Collie doesnt play, White is in the slot and Garcon is on the right . . .

Game time decision it looks like. Fortunately, it's a 1 pm game. John Clayton had said earlier in week he was leaning against him playing. Wilson from Indy Star says his "hunch" is that Collie suits up. We'll see.

This is the problem Collie owners are gonna have if he does "suit up", it could be another Ray Rice situation where Indy tells everyone he's playing and then only play a few snaps all day.

Colts need this game, and snicker all you want but the Chiefs are 3-0 and have had an extra week to get ready...my guess is it's all hands on deck and he plays. If he's active I'm starting him...rather have my beefcake dud it up than blow up on my bench while his replacement goes ho-hum for me.
