Agreed. I thought the Wiz could win the series, had no idea they'd be able to sweep the Raptors. Great performance.Well I will be the first to admit I did not see that coming at all.Thought for sure the Raps would at least show up in the series and certainly not get swept but here we are.
Might have a good shot to take a few games from the Hawks if this run continues and make it a decent series.
It was a blast. Not only did we get a win, we made it out of the very bottom of Verizon's parking garage with no wait. You picked a winner on Friday. Most fun I've ever had at a Wiz game.W O W
He's been slow to develop, or at least slower than expected. It always takes guys a while to adjust to the NBA; people thought he might adjust more quickly because he stayed in school for two years and because he seemed like he already did the "little things." Didn't quite work that way, especially when he missed summer league and training camp (and some of his rookie year) with injury. What's Otto's story? Is he a small-forward with range, but can't bang?
Pierce chasing Korver for long stretches seems less than ideal. Porter chasing Korver ... well, Korver is terrifying no matter who is on him, but if Porter can use his length and athleticism to deny Korver it might help some.I'm guessing Otto goes back to being a forgotten man versus Atlanta though. Probably need Nene out there for Millsap.
Good to be able to go with Pierce at stretch four when the matchup is favorable though.

We all knew why the Bulls didn't want the Wizards in the first round. Now you guys know why I wanted the Bulls to fight for the #3 seed so they wouldn't have to face the Bullets.
Doubt he ever turns into the defender Ariza is but I think he's shown flashes of being a more well rounded scorer. Imagine what he'd be capable of if Wittman had ever played and developed him this year.Yeah, if he can turn into a younger Ariza the Wiz will be happy.
Just looked him up out of curiosity and he's still only 21. If he proves able to consistently giving them + minutes right now it seems like he should develop into a decent starter, no?Doubt he ever turns into the defender Ariza is but I think he's shown flashes of being a more well rounded scorer. I think so. I stopped saying he was a total bust after watching him in summer league last year- he's clearly got some talent.Just looked him up out of curiosity and he's still only 21. Randy Wittman flinging off the dunce cap and using Paul Pierce at power forward drew most of the attention, but two other story lines carry larger fundamental importance to the Wiz: the play of Porter and Gortat. Porter’s emergence as a quality two-way player could realign the entire long-term trajectory of the franchise. They would have a real core, not just a duo in need of reinforcements everywhere. Porter enveloped DeRozan on defense; DeRozan shot 34 percent with Porter on the floor and 47 percent otherwise, per NBA.com. Porter still makes all the typical young-guy mistakes on defense, but the Wizards have realized he has the length and quickness to recover immediately. Porter hit jumpers, murdered the glass, and made slicing off-ball cuts for easy buckets.
FWIW, Derozan always struggles vs long athletic defenders ie. Butler, Giannis, Ariza, Any guy that can stay down and relatively tight to make the inevitable 18-foot fadeaway even tougher will succeed.Zach Lowe joins Team Otto

I was pleasantly surprised yesterdayI didn't really think the Zards had much for the Hawks
I think so too, as much as seeing Gooden continue to get important minutes in a postseason game irritates me. I really thought they'd need a big series from Nene against Atlanta's vulnerable interior, but they got by with another 0 from him. It'd be nice to see him flash his 2014 playoff form at some point.1st half looked like the Wizards of old,2nd half looked like the Wizards of this years playoffs.
Of course Beal gets injured and if he's out it spells trouble since he has picked his game up tremendously lately.
Have to give Witt some props here as well, love the rotation and how they go small with Pierce at the 4 and become an even better team on offense.
I didn't really think the Zards had much for the Hawks but given how the Hawks have played in the playoffs I say they have a great shot to knock them out IF they remain healthy.
Yeah, to my untrained eye, it looked more like a cold Hawks team rather than something the Wizards did defensively.A bit concerned that Atlanta had a lot of good looks and second chance opportunities down the stretch. They just couldn't hit anything.
What did they shoot in the 4th qtr, 4-26? Wizards couldn't buy a rebound down the stretch but the hawks just kept missing.Yeah, to my untrained eye, it looked more like a cold Hawks team rather than something the Wizards did defensively.A bit concerned that Atlanta had a lot of good looks and second chance opportunities down the stretch. They did a nice breakdown on it here-http://www.bulletsforever.com/2015/5/4/8542231/washington-wizards-second-2nd-half-adjustments-atlanta-hawks-pressureYeah, to my untrained eye, it looked more like a cold Hawks team rather than something the Wizards did defensively.A bit concerned that Atlanta had a lot of good looks and second chance opportunities down the stretch. Bump. I posted 'em on the nba.com secondary market but would still prefer to sell them for face value to someone here, not like I'm gonna turn a big profit anyway.I have two tickets for Game 3 that I can't use. Anyone want them? They're fairly good seats- Section 108 Row N Seats 19 and 20 (lower level corner, on the aisle). Here's a map if you want to see the exact location. Face value is $298 for the pair, but I'll sell them to a fellow FFA-er for $250.
If you're interested send me a PM and we'll sort out the details.
Damn I'll be out of town. When the Wiz play the Warriors in the finals we should have a cornhole at one of these games.Bump. Bump again. I've had them down to $110 each on Stubhub for like an hour and they're still not sold. This post-John Wall economy sucks. They're yours for $175 for the pair- just send me a PM.Bump. I wish I could use them instead of having to sell them at a discount but I'll be out of town, watching the game at a hotel bar.I would love to take them off your hands as I'm no fair weather fan, however I have a birthday party to go to that night.
Tough blow with Wall - if he's healthy I think the Wizards may beat the Hawks and I'm not completely convinced it's guaranteed they don't anyway - Atlanta has not played liked they did early in the year. To many turnovers and not enough ball movement and lots of missed shots. I would agree it seems like that the Hawks advance now - I'm assuming he doesn't play again this year unless they make to the Conference Finals or Finals.I wish I could use them instead of having to sell them at a discount but I'll be out of town, watching the game at a hotel bar.I would love to take them off your hands as I'm no fair weather fan, however I have a birthday party to go to that night.
I'm trying to get some $ to use for decent seats to Game 4. My mind knows it's over by my heart is hoping for a miracle.
He's a franchise player. I can't imagine they let him play if there is even a slight chance of making the injury worse. Is there any chance Wall will be back for this series?
Guessing not, but can't find anything solid.
