Return yards for D/ST (1 Viewer)

In my office league, the D/ST are credited with 1 pt. for 25yds of KOR/PR from their special teams unit. Not sure with the rule change how big this will be, but I'm thinking it will significantly effect my D/ST projections. Problem is, I haven't found any KR/PR projections by team and don't have the time to add up all the individual contributors. So does anyone know of any PR/KR projections by team? Or, which teams have the best KR/PR units that will likely add 4-6 points per week based on this scoring format?

For example, I'm a Bears homer and love our return game. But with the rule change and teams trying to avoid kicking to Hester at all costs; is this enough to push CHI to a #1 D/ST vs. #5-#8?

Look at your league's previous years' points for D/ST..I'd venture to say it's the same suspects at the top of the defensive scoring unless your regular stat categories like points allowed and TOs are devalued.

If this is the whole unit then it really shouldn't be a ton of difference between all the teams. My league awards the individual player the points for return yardage so that's when someone like Ford or Amendola gets a big boost. A whole unit isn't going to be that affected by this. The difference between the largest volume KO return guy and the 16th rated KO return guy in yardage was about 1.3 pts a game under your scoring rules.

The new kickoff rule coupled with roughly the same amount of punts that good defensive units will force means I wouldn't really look that deep into this. A guy like DeSean Jackson or someone with TD potential may sway your projections a bit but other than that you won't benefit from taking a second tier D just because they have a decent return game. Let it make your decision between two good D's you are torn over but shouldn't make you pick the Cards over the Steelers because they have the #1 return guy for KOs last season.
