Hey any Jets Homers out there provide me some insight how Revis has performed so far this year.

I have Boldin this week and I am trying to gauge if he has been locking down the other teams top reciever this year.

Last week he stayed almost exclusively on DHB for some odd reason. He shut him down, but frankly some of us could probably do that. :P In Week 2 they played the Jaguars - with the way Luke McCown played we can't get any useful info on that.Against the Cowboys he rotated back and forth between Miles Austin and Dez Bryant. He gave up only one catch to Bryant and none to Austin - its was Cromartie that was victimized by both for the most part. He also gave up a catch to Ogletree on one play.Last season in Week 1 they played against the Ravens. Revis was coming off the preseason hammy injury and was matched up with Derek Mason and pretty much shut him down, while Cromartie played on Boldin and got mostly abused. My guess is that they may keep Revis on the speedy Smith and put Cromartie who is bigger and more physical than Revis on Boldin who himself is big and physical. I don't know that to be teh case, just a guess. Cromartie has played weel the last two seasons, but he gives up plenty of catches because opposing teams avoid Revis and target the guy he's covering. It's possible that they switch Revis back and forth as well - last season and this preseason they started moving him around when they played teams with multiple weapons in order to "confuse" the offense.

Thanks so much for the reply !!I remeber Cromo gettting beat last year pretty consistently by him but just wanted an update to make sure. Boldin has dropped TD passes in consecutive weeks or his season totals would be alot better. Hes seeing a ton of targets so hopefully they work cromo underneath . I cant see them putting him on Smith because that plays right into the hands of the raven as cromo will gamble for a pick and probaly get burned deep by the Speedy young receiver

From Rotoworld:

Coach Rex Ryan hinted that Darrelle Revis may be assigned to Anquan Boldin this week.

Ryan brushed off Torrey Smith, saying he's more concerned with the "proven" Boldin. Note that Boldin posted seven catches for 110 yards against a Revis-less Jets secondary in Week 1 last season.

Revis played that game, although not at 100%. He covered Mason most of the game.
