Are you wanting to bet or asking how many turn overs that I think he will have?I am guessing he will have 1 int and 1 loss fumble due to sack.

Grossman will do fine for 2 reasons:1. I decided to play the Dallas D over SD this week....2. I dont trust Dallas to stop Torain, they couldnt stop McCoy when it counted, why would they stop Torain?

I wouldn't mind making a bet using 4 as the over/under for turnovers caused by Grossman. How about $50? (would require me making one more post to finalized the bet).

Had Carolina D in over Dallas, but now will have to seriously rethink. This is laughable. Dan Snyder isn't just a fantasy football owner, he's like that guy you want to kick out of the league his decisions are so bad.

i'm now in the same boat, Rolling with DAL as i Arizona's OFF hasn't been completely futile, where as the Redskins could easily be shut out now..

I'm thinking it's a shark move for Shanahan. He brought in McNabb. If he stuck with McNabb next year, and he doesn't do well....McNabb is out and so is Shanahan.So he is cutting bait and staking his coaching future on whoever he gets this offseason.

It's become more and more apparent that Snyder brought in McNabb, not Shanny.

I always thought they brought in McNabb with Shanny's approval.
 
My bet is they are looking at next year. They have Rex at #2 and he hasn't played in several years. Rex has an arm to throw the deep ball, but his decision making is what's gotten him in trouble.

If I'm in Shanahan's shoes, I think this is the right move. With McNabb they are a 5-8 football team. He hasn't stepped up and played the way Washington needs him too. At this point, if they can see what they have in Grossman, tells them whether or not they keep him as the Veteran or if they cut bait with him in the off season and go after another veteran backup QB to mentor the rookie QB they really do need.

My thoughts are that McNabb is history end of season and Grossman could be as well. They look to trade hiim as some teams will definitely be looking (MIN, SF, ARZ to name a few). If they can get some games in with Grossman and if he acts as a game manager as Shanahan gets the run game going, then they may hold on to him. If on the other hand after a couple games and he is still bad at decision-making, then they know and they move on without Grossman in the offseason.

The bottomline is they have no idea what they have in Grossman, but Shanahan is going to find out before end of season so he knows what he needs to focus on in the offseason.

EDIT TO ADD: As an Eagles homer, this situation has again proven to me that Reid's system makes the QB look better than they actually are. Reference AJ Feely from a few years back as well as McNabb.

Does anyone think Grossman will actually do a better job on the field for Washington than McNabb has done?

Roster deficiencies are the same for each of them, coaches are the same, whether the coaches like them is irrelevant to the question.

Does anyone think Grossman will QB better than McNabb has done this year?

I don't think that's the point. I think they are trying to figure out what they do have so they can figure out what to do about next year. They know what they have in McNabb. They have no idea about Grossman.

Garcia, Vick, McNabb, Kolb, Feely, and anyone who has played in that system. Reid is proving to be one heck of an offensive guru.
 
At what point does McNabb come in for Grossman if he sucks as bad as most expect. 3rd quarter? Or will McNabb be able to kick back and chuckle and joke around and play air guitar all game on the sidelines?

Well since he's the 3rd QB he doesn't stand a chance of seeing the field before the 4th quarter.

Dodds does apparently. His projections for the Cowboys D & points allow have actually dropped by a point or 2.

He's QB2 today, and will be QB3 the following 2 games.

They signed Grossman because Kyle Shanahan knew him from Houston and wanted him.
 
Sources within the Redskins organization tell NFL Network's Michael Lombardi that the team's decision to start Rex Grossman is "about them being in position next year to draft a quarterback."

The NFL Network crew agreed, with Warren Sapp bluntly stating, "Right now they’re tanking the season looking for that Top 5 pick." While it's hard to argue with that assessment, the team would never publicly state their desire to tank the season, and we can't imagine the league would be able to prove the team's futility was planned. It goes without saying that the Skins will be in the market for an elite rookie quarterback.

 
That's so laughable. If they wanted lose the rest of their games, sticking with McNabb would have been a great way to accomplish that.

 
Quite the obvious that they are tanking. But I think benching McNabb has more to do with his relationship with Shannahan's son.

And they'll trade whatever draft picks they have to trade to move up to get the guy they want, if necessary. After trading a 2nd and 3rd for McNabb and then dumping him.Good job, Shanahan.

My take is that if Rex plays like this the last two games, Shanny will be comfortable with him as the starter going into 2011 and won't feel compelled to draft a QB in the 1st round, unless somehow someone like Luck or Newton fell to them in the 7-10 range, which ain't gonna happen. Rex ain't gonna take them to the Super Bowl, but neither is a rookie QB and Grossman is a competenat QB, or at least todays game suggests that. His more than adequate play will allow them to focus on other needs, of which there are many.
 
Grossman's success makes me realize McNabb is a total slouch. I thought I wanted him next year on the Vikings, but it's apparent he mails it in every week and has no drive to win.

 
So the Redskins under Grossman lose to a team that they beat under McNabb earlier in the year.

4 TD's, 3 turnovers, and with the game on the line he throws an INT.

The offense scored 30 points. Do you blame the offense or defense for this loss?ETA: McNabb's stat line from that week 1 win, 15/32, 171, 0, 0 QB rating of 63.4. Grossman's rating today was 93.4
