Rex Grossman (1 Viewer)

The Bears wouldn't have been in the game if SuperDevin hadn't returned Two TD's......End of story. They should be called the Chicago Hesters. I am a Rex Grossman Hater and tired of people telling me he's the reason they won and that Jerry Angelo should re-sign him. I've got (Mr. Chicago) Mike North on AM 670 The Score saying "We'll be fine with Grossman." Does anyone else want to throw up in their mouth!

FOR YOU REXY LOVERS: present convincing evidence that Rex Grossman should be a starting QB in the NFL.

FOR YOU REXY HATERS: explain why the man should be holding a clipboard for the remainder of his career. :goodposting:

I hope the Bears dont resign him longterm at the end of the season. I am no fan, but I will admit he is our best option at the moment. The bad news is that this moment might last another year.

This is pretty much all that matters.

As much as i hate to say this, what FA QB would be an improvement?

I have no problem if they re sign him at a reasonable price and draft another QB. and don't forget we have not seen Orton in 2 years, and I know for 100% he is better than 2 years ago. is that good enough to be "the man" i don't know, but we are just 1 loss away from seeing him.

I think at this point I would move a first and a third for Derek Anderson... IMO the Bears just dont have the time to rebuild with Rookie QB.The FA market will be thin... McNabb is always an option :lmao:

Even if you hate him, he was very impressive leading the team back. There's nothing you can say to take away from that.

they should just put hester at qb and have him run w/every snap -- all other players block.

Grossman?!?

The offensive line, secondary, and RB position are all bigger priorities.

Why are you worrying about Grossman?

This is true Switz....but if you remember last year in Minnesota, he did the same thing. There have been many lackluster performances since then, and it will continue. This is my point on Grossman....there are too many despicable efforts to make the occasional good one acceptable.

There are a lot of bad QB's that are starting in the NFL. Rex Grossman is probably not the worst, although he is pretty bad. It just goes to show that a franchise QB is extremely hard to find. If the Bears can find a way to upgrade, then by all means they should do it. But that's easier said than done. As Bill Parcells once said, they don't grow those guys on trees, and if you have one, you're probably not giving one away.

I'm sure the Bears woud probably love to dump Grossman but what is the realistic outlook that they could find an immediate upgrade?

I think CLE is planning on keeping Anderson, but they will be shopping ND's Brady Quinn "medicine QB".(brown fans please chime in) McNabb is the sexy name that has been bounced around chicago pubs, 1 because he is not bad and 2 the chicago connection. but what will be his price. the thing is we need to see orton first before any decision is made.

But, he'd be fine starting for many teams this year. Also, he made plenty of good throws that were either dropped or called back on penalty. Every QB can say that every game, but he wasn't the only reason that his team needed Hester to bail them out.

Rex Grossman is odious. The end.

The first thing you need to keep in mind is that Mike North is an idiot. I stopped listening to him long ago because he was so annoying. My problem with Grossman is that he doesn't read defenses well. I think that he continues to make the same mistakes that he has been making all along. He has basically regressed. When he is good he is average, but when he is bad he is atrocious. And I have seen no signs from him to believe he will ever get better.

Well, Grossman has been bad but what's going on now has been kind of a microcosm of some of the other things that have gone wrong with this offense.

Down 5 with 40 seconds left they run a screen and Peterson gets tripped up by his shoestring. After picking up the 1st down they follow it up with a false start and two straight dropped passes to bring up 4th and 15.

Still alive though...

I only saw the 2nd half, but it looked like there were a lot of cases where the wind was playing havoc with his throws.

Also, I think Lovie got ultra-conservative with a 9 point lead...

Took the ball out of Grossman's hands & in effect, challenged Manning & the Giants to beat them...

Grossmans numbers in the first half were great...in the 2nd half, he forgot how to play?

Please tell me you are kidding. Grossman is the least of the Bears' problems right now.

it pains me to watch these games. The Bears get GREAT starting field position most of the game and can't put a a serious drive together. I still support Grossman because I think he is the best option the Bears currently have. However this team will never go anywhere with him.

Erm, I'm not sure how you read that to say that I was blaming everything on Grossman. If anything, I was trying to say that a lot of other guys have been bad too.

I think the Bears have to start from scratch. They can't run the ball, and they can't stop the run. If you watched the game in the second half the Bears defensive line was regularly being pushed three or four yards down the field. I hope Tommie Harris is hurt, because if he isn't he is just useless. And they were unable to run the ball. Peterson looked a little more elusive than Benson, but he was trying to elude people at the line of scrimmage or in the back field. They have to start over as far as the lines are concerned. It is sad to see a team that was a Super Bowl team last year play so poorly. If you allow Eli Manning to beat you I think you may want to consider another line of work.

My bad. I am just tired of people harping on Grossman when he isn't the worst QB in the league.

I thought Grossman looked pretty good today -- a few dropped passes by the WRs, but overall he played well enough to win that game. Next week will probably be a different story.

It would be nice if the Bears had some playmakers at WR. Berrian said he wanted top ten WR money next year. Good luck with that..

I can agree to an extent...but he sat back there and took a few sacks where that he could have avoided.
