*** Richard Sherman Thread *** 2.0 - now with less tool (1 Viewer)

I guess what bugs me is that the INT and Sherman's play was not an indication that Crabtree is a mediocre WR. It's more of an indication that Kaepernick is a mediocre QB and it was a bad decision and a bad pass from a mediocre QB and sure, also that Sherman is indeed one of the best, if not the best corner in the league.

Sherman used the moment to settle a personal beef with Crabtree - he looked like a doosh doing it. He's a smart enough that he shouldn't be surprised that people think he is one now. i'm not sure he gets the same reaction if he went after Kaepernick instead of Crabtree.

It doesn't mean he is a doosh - just because he was acting like one but most people don't care - they're happy enough to label someone a doosh, or worse, based on his 10 seconds of dooshbaggery.
It was a bad throw AND bad decision.

Watched the final play several times that ended the NFC championship game.

Wingnut is wrong. Crabtree never had Sherman beat. There was no window over the top available. That was text book coverage. When they cross the goal line Sherman's right shoulder is dead center between Crabtree's numbers stride for stride. The window you're imagining is only there because Sherman chose to drop his hips, slow down, and go up and get the ball. If the ball was throw farther towards the corner Sherman would have made the exact same play.

Was glad to see him take the high road all week long and keep everything about the team with all his commentary. That said, we all have to know he will put his foot in his mouth at some point again and a reporter will be waiting patiently with a microphone. He certainly gets out of hand when his emotions take over.

He's not unbeatable. Been beat for 4 TDs over the past year while making 16 INT. Glad he's a Seahawk for now, but that might change in a few days. Will be very curious to see where the team goes in the offseason. I say my perception of him might change not because of his ability, but because of his contract status. The team will be able to extend him after his third year. Not doing so could get ugly. Seahawks have a lot of guys to resign/extend. Will they be able to afford Sherman? I guess its a good problem to have.

Yeah, the next year or so will be interesting for teams like SF and SEA that have some young guys like that under their rookie or cheaper contracts (mainly the QBs...but yeah, SEattle has a lot of young defensive players that will get paid in the next several years).

Seem to have a good grasp on it out there though with Schneider running the show...but there will be some tough decisions.
