Rick Perry's ad focuses on gays and Christianity (1 Viewer)

Perry? The dude from Texas that couldn't remember the Dept. of Energy?

Oh yeah... v e r y Presidential.

Perhaps his ad's should focus on the effects of short-term memory loss on one's campaign.

Am I the only one that took this as Rick Perry being a wide stepper?

He said: “I may have the genetic coding that I’m inclined to be an alcoholic, but I have the desire not to do that, and I look at the homosexual issue the same way.”

Rick Perry's right that homosexuality is like alcoholism; it can only be managed by having secret meetings w/ other men in church basements.
Harold Itzkowitz ‏@HaroldItz

Yeah, Rick Perry, alcoholism is just like homosexuality. That's why everyone looks forward to the Alcoholics Parade.

What a pathetic bigot.

We can all agree it's ok to use that term here, right? If you are going to fight it, I don't think my intentions should be the ones questioned.

And, as such, a truly weak person. The opposite of leader, the opposite of worth respect. Especially since he does not respect others at the sheer level of humanity.

It's kinda sad that an otherwise pretty awesome ####### state is destroyed because of this huge presence there. Really, really sucks.

What are you talking about?
He is showing great strength and courage (and will power) to go against his own natural inclination towards homosexuality.

At least that is how I read his statement.
You know what, I stand corrected.

His true strength will show when he admits his "problem" and goes to therapy though. You know, like an alcoholic that finally seeks help.

What he does well is hustle.. we all know where I stand on these nutjobs, but he has done a hell of a job bringing companies to Texas. He has done this mainly on the merit of hard work and effort from what I can see... just out hustling his competition.

eta - I can't believe I just half stuck up for this guy.

And screwing his states water, air and workers by creating an environment where regulation is a bad word. I'd go grifter personally.

Not saying I'm a fan, and the list is definitely unbalanced to the nutjob side, just that he has done something to help our state.

Really?

How’s Texas doing? Not so great: The state ranks 50th in high school graduation rate, first in amount of carbon emissions, first in hazardous waste produced, last in voter turnout, first in percentage of people without health insurance, and second in percentage of uninsured kids.
Yay Rick?

Well, at least they're not first in percentage of uninsured kids...
