Rivals' Top 50 Football Recruits (1 Viewer)

Faust

MVP
For all of you hard core dynasty junkies!

The hype is off the charts with this class with a WR being described as "the most accomplished wideout in high school history" and a RB being described as "arguably the greatest high school running back of all-time"

Rivals' Top 50 Football Recruits

I do admit that they look promising given their size coming out of high school:

# 1

WR Dorial Green-Beckham

Commitment: Undeclared

High School: Hillcrest (Mo.)

Height: 6-6

Weight: 220

Perhaps the most accomplished wideout in high school history, Green-Beckham amassed 6,447 career receiving yards, a new national record. He lived up to the billing in the U.S. Army All-American Bowl: He made a one-handed, 79-yard touchdown reception on 3rd-and-38 in the West's 24-12 victory. He's weighing offers to Arkansas, Oklahoma, Texas and Missouri, among others.
and:
#5

RB Johnathan Gray

Commitment: Texas

High School: Aledo (Texas)

Height: 5-11

Weight: 200

Arguably the greatest high school running back of all-time, Gray amassed 10,908 rushing yards and 205 career touchdowns, the latter setting a new national record. He racked up 3,905 rushing yards, 567 receiving yards and 70 total touchdowns during his sensational senior season, and carried Aledo to a third straight Class 4A Division 2 title in December. He has committed to Texas, where he'll likely split time with former five-star tailback Malcolm Brown.

The best HS RB ever is 5th in his own class?
For what its worth, I believe they are saying best HS running back ever referring to his accomplishments as a high schooler, which is different that saying he's the best RB prospect ever (same way you could arguably say Tebow best college QB ever but not best NFL prospect). But he is still a very good prospect (#1 RB and 5th overall amongst all positions).

The book on BS Jr. is that while he's got decent speed and lateral quickness, he lacks power and will serve more as a change of pace/3rd down back in college rather than a 20-carry per game workhorse. Think Reggie Bush/Darren Sproles rather than Adrian Peterson/Arian Foster.

Who are we talking about as the "best ever"? The kid from Tarboro, NC?

70 TDs in one year! Wow! That's insane, especially given the number of games HS teams play.
I'm in a league where we can draft college guys. I wound up getting Johnathan Gray late in the draft. This guy seems too good to be true. Runs with speed, power, acceleration and seems to be a high character person. He had a couple of shoulder injuries which might be the only thing that could slow him down. Then again, didn't seem to hurt him in HS. He should be on people's lists for those of you who play in devy leagues.

:goodposting: drafted gray two tears ago in my devy league where high school players are allowed.

#9 DE Noah Spence.

Got to watch this kid in PIAA playoffs the last few years. He's going to be special. Rivals has him committed to Ohio State but for some reason I was thinking he was Notre Dame bound. Maybe it's because Bishop McDevitt's uni's look a lot like the Irish.
