I thought he said in 2-3 years he would be the best defensive player in this draft, but regardless those are pretty strong words when you're looking at players like Curry, Cushing, Maualuga, etc.

I wouldn't wanna use them strong words Mayock did (maybe because I'm a coward not willing to put my eggs in one basket when it comes to a player with a relatively short playing/starting career in college) however I really like this kid for a number of reasons.
1. Any player that impresses me during Senior Bowl week make me feel a lot better and Ayers sure did. Plus he won the defensive player award of the Senior Bowl game.
2. He's the best prototypical pure 4-3 end that I've seen in this draft (although Brian Orakpo and Aaron Maybin maybe can play RDE in a 4-3 as well they are still undersized) and that may lead to him being sought after by several teams that still use a 4-3 alignment. There seems to be less of those teams with every day passing (since everyone just has to play a 3-4 these days).
3. This is the least impressive but he did nothing to scare teams off during the Combine or his Pro day and apparently did well in drills during the latter standing up as well.
If I would be the Bills I would give him a long hard look at # 11 over Aaron Maybin whom I think is greatly overrated.
