Rod Smith (1 Viewer)

Rod has had a slow start this year, and to top it off suffered a concussion. He is often touted as a "warrior" who is "ageless." Well, have the years finally taken their toll? Is this the year we see a significant dropoff? Or is he merely suffering along with the rest of the offense and will he inevitably turn it around? If so, what will it take for him to do so? Lastly, what do you see as his trade value right now?

Once the Denver offense gets going, he'll get going. I don't think his age catching up to him is the issue. I just hope the concussion thing doesn't linger.

Does anyone know when it happened during the game and if he played afterwards?

i have not seen the results from his concussion. he looked dazed and confused. i hope he is alright. i like the guy

3 concussions in a year is tough. You can only shake up a brain so much before it's damaged. Like a beer.

I read that he wil be listed as probable for this week.

That said, I still think he's due for a decent 6-7 TD year.

See Eric Lindros and Keith Primeau. It doesn't look promising, because Plummer stinks right now. Didn't know about the concussion either, so that's even more reason for him to sit. But I drafted Rod as my number 3, and as of last Friday, he is only a bye week and injury filler now. Antonio Bryant took his job.

I do not like my WRs this week and Reggie Williams is available. I am thinking of dropping Rod Smith for him...anyone think that is a bad idea?

PPR league

Denver at New England

Jacksonville at Indy

He is old man, and will be an average NFL WR this season. Find someone else to put in your starting lineup.

No, I dont' think it is a bad idea. In fact, I'm considering the same move for Williams or Cotchery.

any news on how he is doing health wise?

cause if he is out this weekend then i need to know if i should start Coles

If Plummer gets good again I think Smith will produce, but if they do bench him for Cutler, I think Cutler would be more likely to Javon Walker as his go to guy. So even if he succeeds, I think Smith's production will tail off.

I think the real question is when will Plummer turn it around.

And I do think Cutler not only is the best QB in this years draft but that he could step in an immediately play better than Plummer going forward.

Cutler has a VERY bright future.

He's had 12 targets so far and only 5 receptions. He had Plummer last year and caught 85 balls. You're talking about a guy who has averaged 90 receptions over the last 6 years. That's gotta be top 5 for most receptions over that span.

I've heard of "losing a step" when a WR gets older, but you don't just forget how to catch the ball. There's gotta be something wrong with him, you know how Shanny is about hiding injuries...

Walker is number one anyway, becoming quite obvious now, which it was anyway that once healthy walker would be #1
