Rodgers owners... Who are you targeting? (1 Viewer)

I mean, I think that the chances that he is back for any FF games this year are quite low, so I can't necessarily fault anyone for dropping him, though I suppose it would depend on roster size.  My re-draft has fairly a short bench.

I think Hundley will be a pleasant surprise and a capable starter. As McCarthy said, they have three years invested in his development and it's obviously a qb friendly offense.

All the injuries on the o line are certainly concerning though.
I swapped Hundley for Rodgers. Probably won't start him this week with either Smith or Dalton as average options. The o-line concerns me too. I looked up his preseason stats and he was sacked 11 times in 48 attempts, the most of any QB in preseason. I'm not that optimistic he'll do that well, but he has an opportunity.

He could run for 50 yards a game if he wanted. But he's looking for plays downfield, a la Rodgers. Rodgers has been sacked a lot too. This is his big audition.

I picked Hundley up.  Thought he looked good in the preseason.  He still has all of his WR weapons and they aren't a running team.  He'll get running opps and is playable in shootouts I think.  I'm likely starting him this week vs. the Saints instead of Rivers vs Denver.

I'm going with Tyrod for now, in a league where it's only -1 for turnovers. Hoping to ride him through these home games, and then maybe trade a future draft pick to some losing team for a better QB, for the playoffs.

dynasty league
Value is unchanged, imo.  Adams, one of Nelson/Cobb (probably not both) will be back next year, as well as Bennett or comparable TE. Montgomery/Jones are both still under rookie deals, offensive line is signed for another year.  There's nothing different about the team next year. Rodgers is gonna Rodgers. I'd be buying low if people are willing to sell. He's been top-2 for fantasy purposes for 4 years running and was the top fantasy scorer before going down this year. He's a stud of studs - this was a freak injury.

yeah I was just talking about stashing him on IR

sorry if this has already been discussed but has there been any news on when Rodgers would be placed on IR?   he's currently listed out and clogging a roster spot
surgery happened yesterday.  Really hoping for an announcement to adjust my roster before Sunday's games.

edit: I guess in redraft, best-case seems like week 15 return.

I've tried to drop him like 3 times in redraft since yesterday, but I can't bring myself to do it for some reason.  I need to drop someone to pick up a defense.

So if he could be back for weeks 15 and 16, then that means that I'd have to get through the first round of the playoffs to even got a shot at using him.  And what are those chances anyway?  I guess that since they say he will likely miss the rest of the season, then there is like a 25-30% chance that he comes back?  So you have to tie up a roster spot for 8 weeks for a 25% chance at a likely diminished Rodgers anyway?

Am I crazy for thinking about this?  Is everyone else just resigned to dropping him in redraft?

12 team Dyn.

I lost him...Have Eli.  Offered up my 2018 1st...

Got offered Goff or Trubisky.

Goff and Eli have same week 8 bye.

Only a couple owners trade.  Most owners set lineups ...that's it..

Rodgers is regarded as one of the top football players.  Since he is done this year, if Hundley runs this offense at a reasonable pace, does this mean that Rodgers was vastly over rated?  One of these arguments has to hold water, either Rogers carried this team, or this "QB frieldly" offense carried him?

I'm just saying, Rogers cant be GOAT material if this offense maintains a reasonable pace with chumley...right?

What do you consider reasonable pace? Matt Cassel went 11-5 when Brady went down.

blasphemy

Went all in on Hundley, already had Goff and also picked up McCown. Tough year for injuries, lost ARod, OBJ, Eifert, and going into the year thought I was all set at QB with Rodgers and Eli as my QB2.

If the rest of your team is in good shape I think QB is the easiest position to overcome losing a stud.

Anyone think Moore will take over in Miami?

Not a Rodgers owner. Just a guy that needs a better 2nd qb than Trubisky after giving up on Bradford.

Moore looks interesting.

Former Rodgers owner with Bortles and Beathard as his QBs

If you mean "take over" ROS, then yes - absolutely. The un-retired Jay Cutler has yet to prove that he is better than Moore in MIA.

Neither is the 2018 QB in MIA though IMO.
