I took him at 9.06 and this was a start-up Dynasty league (20 Keeper actually). So what if you couldn't use him the first five weeks of the season? It wasn't that difficult to work around that, you just had to find a viable starting QB until Big Ben returned. I had taken Rivers a few rounds earlier and got lucky there, but I think Eli Manning, Matt Ryan or even Jay Cutler might have been as just as servicable. Yes, there was a risk that he would be out of shape or that it might take weeks to transition back to top form, but I thought it was worth expending an 8th or 9th round pick.I think most people are too short sighted, even in redraft leagues. Sometimes these things don't always work out (think Vincent Jackson) but IMO it is worth rolling the dice on a player with Roethlisberger's upside even if it ultimately amounts to a wasted roster spot.
