Romo owners (1 Viewer)

I am fortunate to have survived, despite this performance from Romo. I am optomistic he will bounce back this weekend, but do have concerns about the thumb. I know the Cowboys are reporting the injury to be minor, but a thumb injury on the throwing hand is a pretty big deal. Let's face it, you're not going to bench the guy at this point. I just wanted to see what other owners comfort level with Romo are as we prepare for the big dance.

Going against the Petyton owner this week. Its either Romo or Cutler for me, going with Romo.

Didnt he get an MRI yesterday? Results anyone?

I'll roll with Romo this week. Maybe last week was just what he needed to ground himself before the playoffs start.

Assuming the thumb is ok, I am looking for a big bounce back game for both him and Owens (yes I have both). Hopefully, the loss last week will give them some additional incentive to perform.....especially with Green Bay continuing to roll.

ESPN just said X-Ray and MRI were both negative. Steve Young then talked about how Romo doesn't use his thumb to throw as much as others. Sounds promising.

Romo got me this far, and unless reports come out later in the week that indicate the contusion is not healing, I am going to stick with him.

I got bumped into the consolation game, and will be playing for 3rd place. I live in Charlotte, and sent my tickets to Jessica Simpson in order to give the Panthers a fighting chance.

I am rolling with the arm that got me here. I will not have him have a bounce back game on my bench.!!

That would make for a LONG Offseason!!

I survived this week by 2 points and too have both Romo and TO! I expect a BIG bounce back game this week from them both!

rolling with romo until the wheels fall off.

fortunately im am lucky enough to have favre waiting in the wings should romo not get the nod.

heres to hoping jessica simpson isnt at the game.

Tough call for me between Romo and Favre. Thumb issues with QBs scare me. He may be ok right now. However, what happens if his thumb is hit early in the game?

Romo/Witten/TO owner here; I'm expecting a bounce-back game, but nothing ridiculous, if i get 275-2 I'd be extremely pleased. I imagine even if the thumb is bothering him slightly it will be difficult for him to throw an accurate/tight long ball... although I am very encouraged that he won't have to face what was an excellent Eagles secondary (for once this year) again.

I have Romo and Witten. I'm expecting a big bounce back game.
That's what I'm hoping. I survived with Romo and TO both posting poor games. Luckily, I'm playing against my wife for the championship so we can just split the money. However, bragging rights are more important than money in this game. Unfortunately for me, my wife has Brady, ADP, Bush (stecker), B Edwards, S Smith, Witten, Bironas, and Tennessee/Washington. I've got Romo, Parker, K Jones, TO, CJ, A Gonzalez, Folk, and the Pats. I only won last week because of Gonzalez and the Pats. I did not make the playoffs with Romo (and ADP) in my other league and in the third, the Romo owner is out (strangely, didn't make the playoffs either).

i have Derek Anderson who threw 5 TDs last time against Cincy, a team that just made Shaun Hill look great

so Romo is BENCHED for the superbowl as of my thinking right now, Carolina stopped Hasselbeck and Romo is hurt

I did not survive, crashed and burned.

I read many posts in here with guys who have Farve and Brees and starting Romo over them.

I'd think long and hard about that. Carolina held Seattle to just 10 points and Dallas isn't playing good football at all. The only offensive threat is Jason Witten ATM. I can see this Dallas/ Carolina being a low scoring ugly game.

You better check that weather in Cincy. Might change your mind.

While I agree on starting Farve, I'm not so sure about Brees. For some reason the Eagles Def is scaring me at the moment...Maybe I'm just being blind because I have the Romo/Whitten combo going...

I have Romo and Garrard and am sticking with Romo, reluctantly.

Both Dallas and Jax will run more than throw this time. I keep thinking about the game Julius Jones played a couple of years ago in Charlotte where he looked like he'd been shot out of a cannon, but that was during the Parcells era. The Panthers seemed to shut down Seattle's ground game last week, however. And Oakland gave Addai fits. Still . . .

both Dallas and the Jags look, to me, like they'll feature conservative offenses, at least this weekend. However, Romo's penchant for picks persistently perturbs me. I promise no more alliteration.

Play in 3 leagues and I have Romo in all 3 and somehow manged to win all of them.I won by 10, 3.5, and .9

Tony Romo (thumb) showed up at Cowboys headquarters on Tuesday wearing a significant sized wrap on his right hand.

The Texas-sized bandage was filled with ice and some protruding wires indicate a muscle stimulator as well. The Cowboys play on Saturday so Romo has one less day to get treatment on his throwing hand thumb, but he is expected to play in Week 16.

I posted this in the Garrard thread:Romo better look good in practice before I start him over Garrard. I am playing the Brady owner this week, and no way can I afford another horrible game from my QB. So I will be monitoring his health all week. A decent game from Garrard is much preferred to a hurt Romo.

I'm torn between Garrard and Romo and need to have my lineup before the first game of the week. I'm going against the TO owner so keep the updates coming!

IRVING, Texas -- Cowboys safety Roy Williams appealed Tuesday the one-game suspension levied because of his third "horse-collar" tackle of the season. Because his case won't be heard until Wednesday, he was able to take part in a walkthrough practice in preparation for Saturday's game against Carolina.Quarterback Tony Romo was out there, too, but he didn't do more than lob the ball because of continued soreness with the thumb on his passing hand. Afterward, his hand was wrapped with ice and a stimulation machine."He said he felt better," coach Wade Phillips said, adding that the bruising and swelling had gone down.
That is all I have found thus far.

Tony Romo, QB DAL

News: Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo was able to take part in a walk-through practice Tuesday in preparation for Saturday's game against Carolina, but he didn't do more than lob the ball because of continued soreness with the thumb on his passing hand. Afterward, his hand was wrapped with ice and a stimulation machine. "He said he felt better," coach Wade Phillips said, adding that the bruising and swelling had gone down.

Analysis: Phillips said earlier this week that the trainers think Romo will be all right. Keep an eye on Romo's thumb and if he's able to practice this week. It's hard to sit Romo on Saturday at Carolina in Week 16, but if you have a safer option, it might be a good idea since Romo won't be 100 percent.

Hopefully he will begin throwing more than lob passes pretty soon.

Watch for the latest news that should be coming out shortly. The media didn't get to watch all of the practice today. If I was an owner of Romo, I'd be on pins and needles right now.

Tony Romo (right thumb) participated fully in Cowboys practice Wednesday.

Romo appears ready to play against Carolina on Saturday night. Coach Wade Phillips sounds upbeat about his chances: "To grip the ball, and his follow-through a little bit was what was hurting him. But not a whole lot, he seemed pretty accurate throwing the football." The Cowboys can get closer to clinching the No. 1 seed in the NFC with a victory over the Panthers.

Looking better for Tony R!

From ESPN

Romo (thumb) participated in all of Wednesday's practice, the Cowboys' official site reports.

Spin: Head coach Wade Phillips said that Romo's thumb has "really progressed." He should be fine to start on Saturday at Carolina.

It's a shame neither of these report that Tony's thumb hurt when he gripped the ball and on his follow through. Not saying he will or won't play Saturday just saying they're not reporting everything.

Yeah a lot of these outlets must have the same quotes chopped from the Wade presser or comments to reporters - this is from Sportsline:
News: Tony Romo threw a short pass and took off running Wednesday, doing the half-speed drill that starts most practices for the Dallas Cowboys. After that, the sore-thumbed Pro Bowl quarterback also did everything else he'd usually do in practice except take direct snaps. The NFC East champion Cowboys (12-2) expect Romo to start Saturday night at Carolina. "He seemed to get better and better as the practice went along as far as his thumb and throwing the football," coach Wade Phillips said. "It looks like he's going to play to me."Analysis: Phillips had anticipated Romo sitting out portions of practice, but Romo didn't have any problem gripping the ball and exceeded expectations. Backup quarterback Brad Johnson didn't get any more snaps than he'd usually get. "I thought maybe we would hold him out of some of the things if he couldn't throw all the passes," Phillips said. "But he threw long passes, he threw outs, he threw comebacks, he threw short passes. He's still a little bit sore, basically on the follow-through with his thumb." This is good news for Fantasy owners. Despite the minor thumb issue, feel free to start Romo Week 16 in all Fantasy leagues.
