Ron Dayne in Philadelphia Today 3/15 (1 Viewer)

I guess Ron Dayne would work...he always seems to run into the ground though.

Would complement B West well, the fans have been pulling for a big bruiser type of back to go along with Bwest for a while now.

Anyway just an FYI... per www.fanball.com

I really hope not. Besides the usual Ron Dayne bashing that goes on in FFL circles, Dayne has NEVER been a "bruiser" type. He is not a short yardage back. This has been a misconception of soooo many football people over the last few years. Even at Wisconsin, he looks for a cut and turns it up field. IMO he's not a pounder, short yardage, goal line back...he's just a big guy that people assume would fit that role, but his style is akin to a small RB.

Agreed - I think they'd be better off trying to re-sign Buckhalter or sign Dillon.

Dayne is an absolute monster RB. Look what he did with that P-A-T-H-E-T-I-C O-line in Houston.

151- 612 4.1 ypc. In his last 4 games when Carr was totally sucking, Dayne put up 89- 429 4.8 5 TD's. This guy can't be stopped. The same O-line that supposedly made carr look like....well David Carr, made Dayne look like an HOF RB.

Wait a minute, never mind. I ws right, it wasn't the o-line that sucked. It was Carr. Anyone signing fatboy Ron Dayne will get a 3.5 ypc RB ...max.

Like an earlier poster said, Dayne is not a prototypical bruiser back. He is a cut back runner. He runs a lot smaller then he is. In Houston, the zone blocking scheme fit his style. Same with Denver. And, despite this, he never "broke out". Philly would be better suited with someone like Dillon as the complimentary back. Or even Buckhalter.

 nothing big here and the Eagles will most likely keep Buck. Either way, the situation will break down very similarly to last year with Westy and Buck no matter who is there.

I dont think Dayne gets enough credit for the fairly decent job he did in Houston last year ...
Agreed. He's a tough guy to figure out - he showed glimpses in Denver two years ago and with Houston last year. But just when you think he's turned the corner, he reverts back to the 1st round bust.

Dayne did not perform too badly for the Texans last year. Not necessarily RB! type stuff, but he did fine. My only thought was that he did not fit the complimentary role for Westbrook. dayne is not a bruiser, he is a zone cutback type runner (i.e., Houston, Denver). THere are other options available to the Eagles that would seem to fit their needs better.
