RONNIE BROWN - the next great RB ? (1 Viewer)

As a Ronnie B owner - I take back all the nasty things I said about Cam during the Chatman experiment ! :lmao:

Ronnie is now looking like *gasp* LT ! Okay he doen't have LT's moves and game intelligence - but he has great POWER ( anyone that saw him level that guy on the TD run ? - wow ) .

His entire offense around him pretty much sucks - as he is the entire offense and he is still getting it done ! Also he might be the best PPR back other than Westy.

My only worry is he might be taking a little too much punishment. But damn he looks great.

Right now he looks like the best fanatsy back in the NFL, I am expecting a LT 03 type season - about 1300 yards rushing 90 rec and another 6-700 yards rec and 12-14 total TD's

This year is shaping up like the year Ricky Williams was the best RB in Football - I mean not really alot of great RB's a bunch of solid ones though.

Who da thunk -- MBIII, R. Brown , L. Jordan would be putting LT , LJ and Sjax to shame !

I think people hugely underestimate Brown, esp his great value in the Passing game. Green seems to look at him frequent, whether its by design or circumstance, I expect huge value from brown

I traded him for Larry Johnson in a dynasty. I thought week 3 was a flash in the pan, but now I'm :goodposting: .

It takes 3 data points to depart to a new trend. He's got 2 great games in a row. I'm not willing to call it anything other than an aberation at this point.

Dude, he scored over 31 points in my league yesterday! He's well past 3!

Ronnie has teased us with big games in the past. His recent success is encouraging, but I'm leaning towards "sell high" at the moment.

WRONG -- RB has never looked this dominant ! Yes I said Dominant.Looks Like Cam Cameron is the new Saunders / Norv(old Norv ) for Running backs !

Ronnie Brown is the #1 running back in my league.

Meanwhile, Larry "The Beast" Johnson is hanging out with Cedric Benson right around the 20 spot.

Let's revisit this around Week 10 and see what the list looks like.
LJ will have to average 8.8 more points per game than RB to catch him by week 10.

Well at least with Caddy's career basically beng over, RB hypers can be satisfied that they were right in that RB would have the better career. :lmao:

Doing the same. This isn't my 1st Ron Brown Rodeo.

1 great game + 1 very good game = HOF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
Didn't see HOF anywhere in his post.Is a good educated guess though. Our top 5 this year is looking to be very different, no reason that Brown can't land there.

Ronnie had a nice year last year, considering that he missed what? 3 games with injury? Still he had a 1000 yards and caught 30 balls. The league missing last year was TD's which may have been as much as a result of the offense as a problem with Ronnie. Seems as though the TD problem is not there this year. I am an excited Ronnie Brown owner to say the least.

If he can stay healthy and they keep giving him the workload, I think he'll continue to produce.

I've liked him all along, they just need to keep feeding him the ball. Mularkey's playcalling last year was abysmal. Nobody can destroy a power back like that man. Cameron has hopefully seen the light and will continue doing what he's done the past 2 weeks and never revert back to the travesty that was the first two weeks.

I've liked this guy since his rookie year, when I mistakenly took Caddy over him in my keeper league only since Ricky was still in Miami.

Well before Caddy's injury, I regretted that move.

25% of the season has gone by, you want to wait till it is over to figure out who is money this year?

Cam Cameron called the offensive plays in san diego not shotty-heimer. He deserves the credit for the chargers high-powered offense. Cam Camerons departure is the REAL REASON San Diego is perfoming poorly. Against the contrary that Mar-ty! Mar-ty! Mar-ty! was a bad firing. Cam Cameron left so the Front office had no real use for Marty. If he retained Cameron instead of allowing Miami to interview and subsequently taking Cam away from the Chargers. Marty would never have been fired until 08 offseason. Where the Chargers would have promoted Cam to head coach.

Actually, that was already being pretty clearly decided on the field. The fact that the Cadillac GTD is made of glass just solidifies things. The Cadillac GTD:569 carries for 2184 yards (3.8 ypc) -- 10 TDs53 receptions for 294 yards -- 0 TDsRonnie "The Beast" Brown:508 carries for 2226 yards (4.4 ypc) -- 12 TDs85 receptions for 756 yards -- 2 TDsHate to give Switz, who I generally agree with, the eyeroll (the most obnoxious of emoticons), but

His 2 great games were vs. the Jets and Raiders. His playoff matchups include the Ravens and Patriots (also gets the Pats one other time plus Pitt on the road). He'll mix in huge games with bad ones.

He averaged over 200 total yards and 2 TDs in each of those 2 games. Has any other RB done that to either the Jets or the Raiders?Off the top of my head without scrutinizing this week's Jets game, I believe the Jets have done decent against Maroney, McGahee, and Lynch. I will go out on a limb and say that Ronnie's total yards against the Jets is within 100 of the other 3 combined, and that he accounted for more total TDs in one game than those other 3 feature RBs did combined. I despise the argument that Ronnie faced poor defenses. It does not matter who you face in the NFL - if you get 200 yards you had a great game. Until there is a defense that consistently gives up 200 yards and multiple TDs to a RB every week, it will forever and always remain impressive when a RB accomplishes those kind of numbers.

Back to back posts in the same thread. I know it is lame, but it is better than just typing "bump', and as a Fins fan Ronnie is really all we have worth talking about right now.

Ronnie is leading all RBs in receptions (20) and receiving yards (248). He has been targetted 24 times in the passing game including 16 in the last 2 games. his extensive use in the passing game is huge since Miami is likely to be losing in a lot of the 4th quarters of games, which can be deadly to a RB's stats.

I disagree with the notion that Ronnie is a sell high candidate. If anything, I would say that he is a good target to go after if you can still get him for a RB2 value. He is looking to me like RB1 material, and possibly a player that can win you a championship. See Frank Gore - 2006.

Buying high is the way to go.

Pretty amazing that after five weeks the #1 fantasy RB is on an 0-5 team.

I don't know if he is the next great back or not, but right now I wouldn't even consider trading him for LJ in redraft or dynasty. The point made above that he is the number one back after five weeks on a bad team tells you something--what could he do on a good team? I only see upside for RB.
