I need the best impact player at my 2.11 pick in my rookie draft.

2 pts per tackle and 1 pt assist

3 pts interception

who will be the tackling machine?

I voted Whitner.

In my mind, its about point differential.

Jackson will score the most, but he'll be in a large pack of LB's, mainly because he's going to be ILB in a 3-4 along with Andra Davis.

While everyone pooh poohed the 1.08 pick of Whitner, everyone also said he was a mid-first round pick. Playing SS in Buf should be a big point scoring position and he'll be in the top 10 scoring DB.

This is quite possible.

I'd be absolutely shocked if he finished among the top 10 DBs. I don't see the SS in a Tampa-2 defense as being a high scoring position. I like Whitner but he'll have a lot to adjust to as a rookie, he'll be behind two solid LB (Fletcher and Spikes/Crowell), and he'll be expected to help as much in coverage than in run support in that defense.I'm really interested to see how he does though. Watching the performances of the good two-way safeties in the Tampa-2 scheme will be one of the major story lines for IDP in 2006.

Good points about the Cover-2 ... but man, that defense is going to be on the field a whole, whole lot ... racking up tackles ...
