Dave Baker
Damn glad to meet you
Ok, my early take on a fantasy rookie mock draft:
1. Adrian Peterson - Seems the best RB in a decent situation. More talented than Taylor. Should get majority of carries in rookie year.
2. Calvin Johnson - Not many WRs in recent memory with better chances of pro success.
3. Marshawn Lynch - No competition for starting job. Perfect spot for him.
4. JaMarcus Russell - Nice upside, nice weapons. Poor o-line could hurt him but he's a good pick here.
5. Dwayne Bowe - With or without Trent Green at QB, nice situation for Bowe.
6. Robert Meachem - Another good situation combined with great talent. Has it all.
7. Brandon Jackson - Third RB drafted on day one with best chance at starting opening day.
8. Ted Ginn - Not sure how much I like him, but impactful type player who will be hard to ignore.
9. Drew Stanton - Roy Williams, Calvin Johnson, has the tools and the opportunity.
10. Dwayne Jarrett - Keyshawn makes his rookie year less impactful, but give it a year or two and should work out well.
11. Anthony Gonzalez - Harrison will be 35 this year. Gonzalez could be #2 WR under Manning as early as next year.
12. Brady Quinn - Doesn't have the weapons and I personally still like Frye, but could do well.
13. Sidney Rice - Nice situation but still raw.
14. Craig Davis - Could start rookie year.
15. John Beck - Will likely get starting shot as early as next year.
16. Chris Henry - Don't like him as much as some, but nice speed and only has White to beat.
17. Steve Smith - Not a huge upside, but could be Colbert but better.
18. Kenny Irons - Rudi is ahead and young still, but Irons can play.
19. Greg Olsen - Should succeed well and replace Clark completely within a year.
20. Antonio Pittman - I do this before Pittman is picked, and he could go much higher. I really like Pittman.
21. IDPs - Beason, Pasluzny, Willis and Timmons are the kind of guys that come off after this. I love Willis but not his situation.
