Just wondering in regards to situations like RB for the Giants. With a guy like Jacobs you know he has Ward and Bradshaw to beal with but does Droughns go?

TIA

It's this time of year that I always end up thinking about the NFL instituting some type of minor league program. Yes, I know, it's called college football. But it could branch off that and be an extension of each NFL franchise.

I dunno, I just think it would be a win-win for everyone. Especially if a strike ends up happening, then each team could tap into it's minor league pool of resources. Although that would mean that the minor league would have a separate contract than the one it's major league equivalent had. Not sure how realistic that would be..

I have thought the same thing.

I mean, I suppose the NFL Europe was technically a minor league program, but that obviously didn't work out too well. I think that in order for it to succeed, it would have to be based either in America, Canada or possibly Great Britain. I'm sure there's a big NFL following in a lot of other European countries but I know for a fact there's a lot of hardcore supporters out of the U.K.

I have a concept of how this could come about, but I have no idea if it is a viable business proposition.

Let's hear it! :goodposting: Or at least an abbreviated version, as I'm sure it's probably pretty complicated..

Aren't the CFL and Arena football pretty much providing the role of NFL minor leagues?

exactly what I was thinking
Sure, they provide some players from time to time. But I think it should be overhauled, with one team assigned an affiliation with one pro franchise. And make all of the rules the same as the NFL. That would be key.
