Roy Williams likes his fantasy football (1 Viewer)

In a radio interview Tuesday, WR Roy Williams revealed that he's nicknamed rookie WR Calvin Johnson "Megatron" and added that he has five fantasy football teams.

Transformers and fantasy football? Who knew. "I just set them on Tuesday, my off day, and don't move them unless something drastic happens," Williams said. "When we're at the stadium and they show the highlights or the stats on the screen I'm definitely one of the guys who is paying attention to them." Williams then apologized to his fantasy owners for totaling only 20 yards in Week 1.

The Detroit Free Press happily provides a side-to-side picture comparison between Johnson and Megatron that seems oddly similar.

I'm sure there's no gambling involved in those leagues.

Somebody needs to ask Roy if he'd start himself against Antoine Winfield or Santonio Holmes over whatever chump my Bills have to cover him.

I see a huge fantasy football scandal on the horizon.

We've seen just about every other ridiculous sports storline recently, so why the hell not.

One more reason to love ROY.Regardless, I have a message for Roy - forget your fantasy team on Sunday and think about scoring for mine. I don't like the idea of my WR1 multi-tasking on game day.

"Oddly similar"? In what way? They both have heads?link to picture

And from that article it sounds like several Lions players have their own fantasy league amongst themselves??? :coffee:

Can you just imagine in Week 16 when one of their DBs is in the championship game and he has the WR he's covering???

:confused:Screw trying to win this game and me making the team next year - we're eliminated from the playoffs, I wanna win a G in my FF league and that cool plastic trophy!

Of course. All sports gambling is a matter of skill. Just ask Pete Rose.

Here is an article about one or Roy's teams. Of course he took himself...

STEVE SCHRADER: Lions drafting Lions in fantasy football, but not first

September 9, 2007

So, assuming only Peyton Manning's already off the board, whom would you take for your quarterback in your fantasy draft?

The Lions' Roy Williams had that choice in the CBSSports.com players' league and, with his second pick, the 12th player taken in the draft, took Cincinnati's Carson Palmer.

You know, Carson Palmer, the reason Jon Kitna is now with the Lions instead of the Bengals. At least Williams took Kitna with his eighth-round pick, to back up Palmer again.

Williams and teammate Tatum Bell are among 10 NFL players taking part in the league for charity.

Bell also drafted a QB before Kitna: Jay Cutler, his teammate last season in Denver. Do these guys not want to see the ball this season?

(To be fair, Williams has Kitna active for today's opener at Oakland. He's sitting Palmer, who's facing that tough Baltimore defense.)

• The first Lion taken went in the third round, when Williams drafted himself. Besides Kitna, he drafted one other teammate, Jason Hanson in the 13th round. Williams' first-round pick was Pittsburgh running back Willie Parker, ninth overall.

• Bell took three Lions: Calvin Johnson in the fifth round, himself in the seventh and Mike Furrey in the 14th. His top pick was Seattle running back Shaun Alexander, fourth overall.

• Only one Lion was drafted by a non-teammate: Ravens receiver Mark Clayton took Kevin Jones in the 15th round with the 147th pick overall, the fourth-to-last pick in the draft. Nobody took the Lions' defense-special teams.

Bell, by the way, got a big night Thursday from Reggie Wayne, who had 115 receiving yards and two touchdowns in Indianapolis' 41-10 win over New Orleans.

CBSsports.com will track the league all season, and the winner gets $20,000 for his favorite charity.

These guys know what they are doing.

Roy is a great guy. He lives 3 blocks from me. When he first moved in, he just walked up to a group of 13 year olds playing in the driveway and was like "hey, I'm Roy. Can I get in a game or 2?" Every once and awhile I still see him playing basketball with the neighborhood kids.

What if Roy DOESN'T own himself in every league. :towelwave:

What if he was playing against a team that had him.

I'm not saying...I'm just saying. Say it aint so, Roy.

Hopefully they're all Lions fans... "Oh, sorry, Roy. I came down on your ankle a little hard, didn't I?" :unsure:But, hey, that is very cool :towelwave:
