Rudi or SJax (1 Viewer)

I have the 5th pick in 12-team redraft league and I was all set to pick Portis even after the injury. Now (w/ the Duckett trade) he will lose some goal line TDs at the very least so he is out of contention. Enter Rudi Johnson and Stephan Jackson (for discussion purposes lets stick with these two options... no R. Brown please).

Rudi is a solid RB and with Perry injured has no real threat of another back challenging him for playing time. The only injury concern he has is that of his QB. I'm afraid if Palmer is ineffective or reaggrevates hits knee, defenses will start stacking the box against the run.

Stephan Jackson is a beast that plays in a much weaker division. The offense looks definitely more run-oriented this year and Faulk is out of the picture (although Tony Fisher will get some reps). What I'm concerned about is their O-line and Jackson's lingering injuries. I'm not sure how this achilles thing will effect him this year?

I think Rudi is the safer bet, but SJax has more potential for upside. What are your thoughts???

that's pretty much what I think but SJax is pretty safe on top of it...

I would guess most people will agree with your thoughts. I do. It's pretty much a coin flip for me.

why dont we want to talk about Ronnie Brown here? He deserves to be in the discussion. I have #5 in a 12 teamer and like you was ready to nab Portis . . . not for me it is between Jackson and Brown . . . I am leaning towards Brown.

I know Brown has great potential but I haven't seen a full year from him as a starter. Maybe I'm being overly cautious, but I need to see that before I use a #5 pick on him. I think he will be good this year, but he won't outperform Rudi and SJax to the point where his potential upside is worth the potential risk. I'll be gambling enough with whom I choose as my RB2, I need my RB1 to be solid.
