Exactly. This is ridiculous. Unless the Colts learned something about Addai AFTER blowing a 1st rounder on him that we all don't know about..................I would find this extremely hard to believe...

I'm certainly not saying this rumor is true, but to answer your question, maybe Addai would be included in the trade?

Is it just me, or is Benson not another one of those guys that doesn't really fit in Indy? If they were looking for a bruiser they would've gone LenDale in the draft but it seems pretty clear they moved on Addai in the draft partially because he fits into their system so well.

A friend of my cousins roomate works Deuce McAllisters trainer's sister and he said Deuce has been contacting his agent trying to get traded to NY as C-Mart's replacement. Reportedly he has considered renting out his home in LA and has already lined up a real estate agent for the Jersey area. Just something to keep an eye on.

Darn it. You beat me to it. But the proposed trade includes Brees to NY. They are supposed to get back D' Brick, Clemmens and Mangold.

Maybe they are looking to change their style. Prior to the draft, I expected the Colts to go after White, but I think the character concerns scared them off. They need a bruiser because the finesse game they've been using hasn't worked for them in big games.

JACKSON AT CORNER: Jackson, the Colts’ first-round selection in the 2005 NFL Draft, likely will begin training camp at cornerback, Dungy said Friday.

The team has been considering trying Jackson at safety, but Dungy said if Doss and Sanders are healthy entering camp, Jackson likely will begin at corner, where he played three of four seasons at the University of Michigan.

“We’re pretty optimistic that Bob Sanders and Mike Doss will be healthy going into training camp,” Dungy said. “If they are, my guess is we’ll leave him at corner.”

I agree with you, but you never know. Maybe the Colts offer Addai or Rhodes and a #1 for Benson. Having said that, I don't believe that Benson fits well in the current Colts scheme, but that's not to say that the Colts haven't decided to change their scheme. I hate using double negatives, but I guess it's applicable here.

Just think this idiocy through from a pure dollars and cents perspective. Between Benson's cap hit and the money they would pay Jackson and are paying Manning Jr, we're talking almost Ty Law calliber dollars here and all the Bears get out of it is an end of the 1st round pick in exchange for a pick they took at 4, and 2 ok cornerbacks instead of just paying a pro-bowler to come to town. The GM would get run out of town on a rail.
