Summary: There's an open competition at safety in Carolina's camp this year and Shaun Williams hopes to use his familiarity with Coach Fox to land a starting role. "I had a good experience with him (in New York)," said Williams of his new head coach. "I knew what kind of coach he was. I knew this was a great organization here in Carolina. I heard a lot of good things about it. The opportunity to play for a team that is competing for the Super Bowl was what I wanted. It was kind of an ideal situation for me."
Personal view: Carolina's safety spots are up for grabs since Marlon McCree and Idrees Bashir have left in free agency and Thomas Davis has been moved to LB. Shaun could be good value late.
