Saints are as good as in! (1 Viewer)

I may try to go back and list every game that has to happen for the Saints to make the playoffs. But a simplified version of the scenario is actually pretty easy to explain. If all home teams win with the exception of:

the Saints winning at Dallas in Week 16,

Green Bay winning at Minnesota in Week 17,

and Philly winning at the Giants in Week 17

then the Saints are in the playoffs :excited:

I don't think it is a foregone conclusion that GB will win at MN in week 17. Will Rodgers even play? MN will be playing for a playoff spot and GB will be trying not to get hurt. ADP may be playing for the history books.

If all of this played out, I expect the Panthers to beat the Saints in week 17 to knock them out. Carolina always plays well against New Orleans, and they are playing at a high level right now. It will pretty much be their Super Bowl, so I could see this being a great game.

So in this scenario, the week 17 game against Carolina doesn't matter? With the way Carolina is playing, I feel pretty confident that they can beat the Saints.
Saints of course have to win 2 in any scenario. It's all laid out in what's on the generator. But if you're a Saints fans just root for the home to win every time except for the 3 cases I noted and you can start making travel arrangements :) -QG

I'm a Panthers fan, so I hope everything plays out perfectly for them. Then they lose to Carolina in week 17.

Quiz, am I missing something? NO is 2 games behind Vikings, Bears, Dallas, and Giants for the 6th spot - so the Saints need to win out while all of those other 4 teams need to lose out just to force a tiebreaker - that may not even be in their favor.

I would expect their chances are slim to none

As good as in, man. It's a :lock: that that small list of things happens :) -QG

I usually do this thread when there is a clear path for, say, a 2-10 team to still make the playoffs. This season wasn't very conducive to that.
