Saints are better than the Packers (1 Viewer)

Are the Saints better then the Packers right now? I think they might be especially with no Greg Jennings. The Saints are firing on all cylinders and the Packers look bad against the Chiefs, granted it's one game. Discuss.

Did they play better today?

Sure

We will see if they meet.

They are both very good teams.

GB needs to heal up though for sure.

The Saints are every bit as good as the Packers and if the packers make it to the Championship game the Saints are capable enough to win in Lambeau. They are built better for cold weather with their running game than the home team is.

Based on the running games and defenses, I just may agree with this one even though it pains me to say it. I am glad that it will be a game at Lambeau though in the postseason if they do meet because the Saints are not as explosive away from the Superdome.

They could be. As a Packer fan I've been concerned about the Saints since that week 1 game. They are mirror images of each other on both sides of the ball. That rematch, if it happens, will come down to which QB has a better game and while I think Rodgers is the better QB it's very close and it wouldn't shock me for Brees to outplay Rodgers.

Not sure their running game is built for the cold weather. What is the Saints advantage in the run game? Sproles. Not really a cold weather back/bad field type of back.

Saints are better than the Chiefs.Chiefs are better than the Packers.Winning is transitive.QED
And you claimed I was fishing. Seriously man...grow up.Packers beat the Saints.Packers beat the Bucs.Saints lost to the Packers and the Bucs.See how that works?

Ingram and Ivory will be all over the cold weather my man. Ivory was killing it for tough yards in garbage time today. PT shouldnt be over looked either. I'd put every last one of them ahead of Ryan Grant.

Green bay will be hurt by the weather as much as the saints
lol
I see nothing funny myself. Rogers hasnt played any home games in January either. Brees balled at Purdue and did pretty damn well when we went to chicago in 2006 against a defense much more formidable than the Packers defense is this year.
He played against Chicago and NY last year in some cold weather games in Green Bay.Id say December last year is more relevant than 2006.

Tough yards in garbage time against the Vikings in a dome...color me impressed.Grant has proven it in bad weather...add in Starks too. However, if they can't field a healthy Oline...it could get ugly.Either way, these two teams are built on the passing game opening up things for the run.

Rogers has just as much experience in the weather as Brees does and if it makes you feel any better that it was last year then what ever floats your boat. I wouldnt write the Saints off as a sure victory just because the game is in Lambeau.

Come on man you have to know more than this football wise. Did you watch Ivory run at all last year? Any way no point in arguing further. This will be settled soon enough. Hopefully both teams stay healthy so it will make for epic football.

I have not written them off.Just disagree that Rodgers does not have the experience in cold weather. He has been playing in it since being a starter and has done pretty well in cold weather games.

Seriously...you are going to pin it all on Ivory?Did you watch Starks in the postseason in a cold weather outdoor game?I just don't think the distance in the Saints running game is as big of an advantage in the cold as some think.Sproles it the main threat running there and his strengths are more good weather/dome/turf type strengths.

total saints play off wins on the road zero, 0, zip, none. Chance the saints can beat the Packers on the road, zero, zip, none.

Go back to your Vikings hole Gopher. Your not fooling any one with the Green bay fan impersonation. Also by your logic the Saints had zero percent chance of beating the colts because they had never won a Super bowl. No team had made it to the Super bowl after losing its last 3 games of the season either. The Saints will just find motivation knowing they have never won on the road in the playoffs and conquer yet again.

They won't meet until the playoffs and Jennings should be back. Based on week 1, the Packers have to be favored.

I would expect the Packers to be favored but it has nothing to do with week one or the cold. Having home field advantage is huge for the Packers. I still dont think its a lock they win. The Saints shut them down in the first game after halftime adjustments were made and nearly came back. I expect a much more formidable even matchup this time around.

You assume the Packers make it to the NFC Championship game. If they can lose to the Chiefs, they can lose to anyone.

now that undefeated is out of the question, i wonder if its more likely the packers rest the starters the last couple of games.

:goodposting: They're the walking wounded now. The air of invincibility is gone and both the Packers and the rest of the league know it. Doubt they get a playoff win.

Thank. You.

'Bout Damn Time.

This is happening.

By the way it's about time now that P Manning is out the order goes Brady and Brees, then Rodgers. Brees is building a HOF resume.

Too many interceptions. Brees is one of the best but he doesn't protect the ball as well as Rodgers does.

The injury situation is much better than it was just last season.
Are Packer fans turning into the obnoxious NE fans now?
Nah. It's really just sho nuff that irritates people on the message board, including other Packer fans.Overall the Chiefs had a great game plan and executed much better than the Packers today. Props to Kansas City for a well deserved win, especially considering how many teams have rolled over when faced with adversity this season.

Didn't Favre and the Pack lose to Vick and the Falcons in Lambeau one year?http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/200301040gnb.htmGB had never lost a playoff game at home before that, right? And they lost to a dome team, and to Vick, in 20 degree weather? How did that happen? The Saints were never invited to this party in the first place.
