The talk about the Saints draft is all about Reggie Bush. Good pick up, no doubt. But the pundits seem to say that the rest of the Saints draft was ho-hum.
Granted, I may have picked a few different picks (i.e., I like Harper, but he may have been a reach in the 2nd round especially when you trad for a safety a few weeks earlier and you draft a safety in the 2nd round last year), but the picks are solid.
My main issue with the so called pundits is that they do not take into account the acquisitions. TO me, it is as if the Saints also drafted Jeff Faine and Hoillis Thomas. While neither are studs, they are capable NFL players that can fill voids on the Saints right away - Faine steps in for Bentley (not as talented, but Mangold was already gone and it just cost a few draft slots), and Thomas fills the need for a reserve DT.
You have to count these acquisitions when evaluating the draft, don't you?
Wouldn't you take into account Denver's pcik up of Walker when evaluating their draft??
