Saints have a decent cold-weather history ... (1 Viewer)

The following is meaningless for Sunday's NFC title, but I'm posting it anyway. I think it's safe to say that the Saints have a history of not rolling on their backs and dying just because they have to play in the cold and snow:

Cold-weather Saints games since 1980:

1980 -- Wk 15 @ NYJ: won 21-20 (snow game, only win in a 1-15 season)

1983 -- Wk 14 @ NE: lost 7-0 (snow game)

1983 -- Wk 15 @ PHI: won 20-17

1984 -- Wk 16 @ NYG: won 10-7

1987 -- Wk 14 @ CIN: won 41-24

1989 -- Wk 14 @ BUF: won 22-19 (snow game, John Fourcade's first non-strike start)

1990 -- WC game @ CHI: lost 16-6

1992 -- Wk 17 @ NYJ: won 20-0

1993 -- Wk 17 @ PHI: lost 36-27

1994 -- Wk 17 @ DEN: won 30-28

1995 -- Wk 17 @ NYJ: won 12-0 (snow game)

1996 -- Wk 16 @ NYG: won 17-3 (only win under interim HC Rick Venturi)

1997 -- Wk 17 @ KC: lost 25-13

2002 -- Wk 16 @ CIN: lost 13-20

2006 -- Wk 16 @ NYG: won 30-7 (30 mph wind gusts)

No cold-weather curse here :goodposting: Other factors will determine the winner of the Saints-Bears tilt.

Grass curse, the historical element is kind of lost nowadays since players change so often. The dome curse is still in effect.

What was the temp of that Giants game? I'm pretty confident the only true "cold weather" game (30s) was against the Steelers this season (which they lost).

The Bears with Rex Grossman are not scoring as many points as the Steelers did that day to beat the Saints. Sorry, it's not gonna happen. The Bears better hope for a 17-14 type score.

You're right -- it was only in the low 50s. I added the note about the winds to indicate that the winds were the important thing, but that game probably doesn't belong on a list of cold-weather games.

I just don't think a team with as many voodoo practitioners as New Orleans has needs to worry about finding ways to break curses
