Saints WR's #2? (1 Viewer)

Lance Moore had several passes thrown in his direction. Maybe him or Terrance Copper? The Saints are a mess though.

Did the rest of the league finally catch onto his only move? Run as fast as possible down the field?
If you can do it faster than anybody else on the field, it's a pretty effective move. Maye not a recipe for fantasy stardom, but guys have made a decent NFL career from that one move. All you have to do is catch the ball and you've got gold, Jerry, gold! :goodposting:

Where the hell is Meachum?? What a golden opportunity to step up............but he's nowhere to be found.

Payton can scapegoat the receivers all he wants but the problem is Brees. He is a shadow of what he was last year and frankly Tyler Palko would be a better option right now.

Brees wasn't good, or even OK the past 2 weeks. But your post is just dumb.

And there is the problem. Against Tampa Bay Henderson had some critical drops of passes that a professional should catch. Hence, his demotion by Payton.Patten and Copper will probably split the time at WR#2, but I think Copper will outperform Patten. Copper is good and Brees and Payton like him a lot.

But your post is just dumb.
With the entire offensive line getting beaten like rented mules, at least Palko could get out of the pocket.
The Palko who has 4 INTs, 3 fumbles, and 3 sacks in preseason on 48 pass attempts? Yeah, he sure would be better than that bum Brees and his 3 years and counting passer rating over 89.Brees has only been sacked 3 times. The sky isn't falling...

It will be interesting to see if he is activated this week. My bet is that he is and that he gets a shot.
Meachem is far down the depth chart . . . he might get a shot, but I doubt it . . .
As you pointed out above, who knows what the real depth chart is. Depth charts can change over night: just ask Leftwich or Frye

Surprised no one is talking about Lance Moore.

5 TARGETS / 3 catch / 46 yds this past weekend. Looked very solid in preseason.

the targets post is $$$

how does this make the oline better? :(

O it doesn't, replacing brees's #5th option (Bush-colston-deuce-eric johnson-devery) & #3wr(colston-bush-ej/devery) will not equal more offensive production.

Devery is a decent reciever and serves his purpose-deep post target. The saints offense just hasn't hit its groove. Henderson will earn his respect back.

People pumping up Colston and Moore are not watching the games . . .

the Saints have been blown out - twice . . .

in both games, the Saints amassed most of their yardage AFTER the game was decided . . .

like an earlier poster said, the WR crew is not the problem (save a few drops from Devery) . . . until they fix the OL issues, and Brees plats better, all the WRs will underperform .. .

the #2 WR is not going to be a consistent performer for the Saints. sometimes it will be henderson with numbers but copper, patten, johnson or even bush will be the recipient. it is dictated by matchup and whoever is "hot" in the course of a game. henderson might have the most upside but don't waste your time, especially with the offense sputtering.

It has to be Moore, in my opinion. It might be Patten - Payton's been very high on him, too - but Moore has earned it. The guy's exactly what the team needs right now. He's motivated, he's young, he's catching everything that gets near him, and he's a complete nobody.

I just switched out Henderson for Moore in one league.

I didnt want to keep Hendy at his current pace.

Would have moved him for someone else anyway.

I'll take a chance at getting Moore before he does something nice this week.

Im more then willing to cut Moore also for another player in the coming days.

It could be Copper or Patten. Patten is likely, but he is to limited for what I want.

Payton is hinting that it will be a rotational basis. I'd expect to see Henderson, Patten, Copper, and Moore all being swapped in and out until someone distinguishes themselves.

Ugh! I own Devery in almost all my leagues, he was my sleeper of the year! Henderson has not played well, but I don't think he's the main problem. During the Colts game, NO hardly threw down field AT ALL! I have to believe the Saints will get it together soon, and I'm not giving up on DH, yet. Monday night, NO is finally at home playing against a mediocre defense. Stay tuned.

Yep. DH's main problem is that he is a deep threat on a team that's been too scared to throw the ball deep. As soon as they start attacking the other team instead of sitting back and taking what's given them he'll start getting his.

Scared? Not exactly. Were they scared to throw deep last year? What's happening is that the Saints first two opponents (Indy & Tampa Bay) employ the "Tampa 2" defense. The primary objective of that defense is to NOT get beaten deep. Nobody should get behind the deep men, in theory. That defense makes you dink and dunk your way down the field with short passes. Brees got flustered and tried to make a lot of throws which simply weren't there.

In the interest of full disclosure, I just cut Henderson. Nothing to do with the defenses he's faced. Rather, he's terribly unreliable.

Yeah but Sanders plays up close enough I'd figure you could catch him deep and/or it's worth a try to help keep him honest. That guy is everywhere and a great player but I always wonder why more teams don't go deep when he's pretending he's a LBer

I think this thread is getting way ahead of itself. Henderson got benched for part of one game.

If someone has a link or information that Henderson is truly "out" as the #2 WR please post it because this would be a fairly significant development.

Otherwise what we're really talking about is who might be next in line if he continues to struggle.

According to THIS ,he has held on to the job.

I assume "out" as in he sucks.
Devrey's hands are TERRIBLE.. he just cant catch that is his problem.. had the same issues at LSU, I swear every time he did actually catch it he bobbled it first, I was amazed he was a 2nd round pick.
I've seen a lot of this, too. I remember last year in one game Drew threw him a perfect bomb, right in his hands, and he was 5 yards behind the defender on the way to the end zone. of course, he dropped it. an 8 year old could have made the catch. ugh.

I dropped him in my league for Engram (PPR), and he was promptly snatched up.

There are too many options in N.O. for Henderson to be a reliable start, and I can easily see Payton going with Copper if Henderson continues to suffer with drops.
