Lincecum was offered 17M and is looking for 21.5m

Kershaw was offered 6.5m and is looking for 10m

My question - is Lincecum worth that much more than Kershaw? What am I missing here?

I agree, I'd value Kershaw higher. Lincecum is really small and is creating a lot of torque on that shoulder/elbow. Not to mention Kershaw is a lefty. If I were starting a team today, I'd rather have Kershaw as my ace.

Kershaw is in his first arbitration year, Lincecum is in his third. The player's service time and previous year's salary are considerations.
