Fiddles

On Mondays during the regular season, NFL teams either fax or e-mail to the league office questionable plays from that weekend's games that they'd like to have the officiating department check for accuracy.

On the cover sheet the Raiders use for this process, there is a photo of Tom Brady being stripped of the ball by Charles Woodson in the 2001 divisional playoff game. The officials called the play an incomplete pass, a call the Raiders resent to this day. Obviously.

 Get over it, Al.

What's in the Raider club's drinking fountains, grape Kool Aid? Between these yahoos and Jim Otto...

I kinda like it, should keep the league on their toes cause they'll be constantly reminded of one of the more ginormous blunders they've had.

Incomplete.

You're right. That was an illegal headslap by Woodson, and it should have been called.

Hands to the face?
Much like people like to pin the '86 World Series on Buckner (overlooking the fact that it was only Game 6 and that the game was already tied), people like to pin that playoff game on one play (overlooking the fact that the rule book was interpreted correctly on the tuck rule and that it really shouldn't have mattered anyway since it was an illegal headslap). It just makes for a better story and more controversy when people look past the inconvenient facts. Many of these guys are the same people who like to criticize ESPN for using similar tactics in their reporting. Go figure.

To this day I can't believe they didn't call that head slap. Just another example of those Dirty Raiders.

<raider fan>

Head slap? Yeah.

Incomplete pass? No.

Likely called as a fumble in most regular season games? Yeah, probably would be.

NFL conspiracy? No.

That call didn't cost Oakland the game. It definitely did not go their way, but there was still a lot of football to be played after that point. It sucks something that close came up in a playoff game, but they are on the road so what can you expect?

Would that turnover have won the game for Oakland? Yes, obviously.

Did it cost Oakland the game? No, their play on the field from that point until the final whistle did.

Reasonable thought and remarks from a Raiders fan regarding the Brady tuck rule game? What does this mean in relation to the end times?

People are taking this out of text; if Al Davis was showboating or using the media to get this message out to the fans, he deserves to be booed. But this is information was not designed to get out to the fans through the media.

Anybody who has a problem with this is being a hypocrite. There is a big difference between publically questioning one of your friend's choice of women amonth 3 or 4 close friends on a golf course. It is completely different to question of your friend's choice of women through a public PA announcer.

And it doesn't matter how long ago your friend took home that fat chick, there is no expiration date on it.

Look, I was hammered. Things you do when you're drunk don't count and shouldn't be held against you.
