Sam Bradford's 1st game. (1 Viewer)

I personally think you guys are over-estimating Bradford week 1. I think the Cardinals offense is going to struggle and they know that their only hope is to force turnovers and get the ball into their hands. They are going to throw everything they have at Bradford and he will make mistakes.JMO :wall:
So if the Cards weren't so desperate they don't go after the young QB? :wall:

By the way, Rams win this game.
I agree. I see Jackson having a big game and Bradford going 14-24 for 165 yards and a touchdown with no turnovers in a 20-17 win. Jackson catches one and runs one in with 120 on the ground 50 in the air.
The Cardinals defense did NOT take a step back this year, they took FOUR STEPS back. Rhodes will be more reliable than Rolle who was a flashy player but undisciplined. Carlos Dansby is a big loss but AZ replaced him with Daryl Washington who has been the talk of training camp and will actually start as a rookie.

Campbell, Calais

Dockett, Darnell

Rodgers-Cromartie, Dominique

Wilson, Adrian

Rhodes, Kerry

Porter, Joey

= long day for Bradford

and watch how many times rookie LB Daryl Washington's name is called tomorrow for making good plays.

I like Bradford but not in this game and maybe not until the Rams pick up one or two WRs in next year's draft.

195 yrds, 2 INT, 0 TD
it doesn't help your cause to list rhodes and porter. those two are huge downgrades that were unwanted by other squads. washington right now can't hold Dansby's jock. berry left another gaping hole that brown was supposed to fill. four steps back, amigo. IMO teh cards are going to have a long season.

I really think you guys are underating Arizona's defense.5 Sacks / 2 IntsWe are talking Dominque Rogers-Cromartie, Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes. Greg Toler is no slouch and will have NO TROUBLE covering whatever 2nd or 3rd receiver he's placed on. This boards ignorance of the Cardinals is annoying. To call the Cardinals defense "soft" is ludicrous.
1st Quarter; we've already got 1 Sack / 1 Int. Prepare to eat crow everyone. :)

Bradford is the best QB to come along in a long time, IMO, but like all rookie QBs, he'll look like a fool every now & then. However, his talent will eventually win out. I believe Bradford is going to be a stud. I don't have any doubts, whatsoever.

That said, those thinking he would be a big-time producer this season are wishing a little too hard. :) Bradford simply doesn't have enough help to do that (at least right now).

BTW, just as I'm typing this, Clayton dropped a beautiful pass where he could've scored a long TD. Among their other problems, they don't have enough talent at WR.

Be patient, though. Rams fans will have something to celebrate before long. It's coming.

he really does look very confident for a rookie and you cant help but notice his accuracy....he really just doesnt have any wrs at all...i thought robinson was solid but i guess hes just a deep threat?

Bradford is going to be a fantasy football monster in time. He could be the best QB in the NFL by 2012 (or during the 2012 season). Absolutely no question, IMO.

I cautioned people about expecting too much, too early, but he stood out like a sore thumb (in a good way). The nice thing as far as FF is concerned is the Rams have confidence in Bradford & are willing to let him sling it (as evidenced by his 55 attempts).

Just think if Bradford had a decent WR corps, LOL. If he did, he might could be a big producer this season.

Bradford definitely looks the part. Made many nice throws and looked poised. Get this kid a true #1 WR and have clayton the #2 and Amendole and Gilyard in the slot.

I played the AZ def this week the 3 ints helped me win.

I be looking to play the D that plays the Rams each week this season.

That would be a mistake. Two of those three picks were a statistical aberration and probably not helpful predictors of the future. The second pick was a fourth down pass attempt during what seemed like the final drive, while he was getting hit, and just had to get the ball in the air and take a chance at it. The third pick was a hail mary attempt to the end zone with the clock expired. He really only threw one "mistake" pick.He looked much better than his stats indicated. Those stats will continue to improve.

If I were a Rams fan, I'd be hoping they draft an offensive lineman & a WR with the first 2 picks in the 2011 rookie draft. Clayton is nowhere near a #1, & like I mentioned in another thread, Amendola may very well be their best WR. I suspect Amendola will get more & more targets as the season goes along. A healthy Hoomanawanui will help, as well.

I'd also look into signing a FA WR next offseason if I were them. Things can change quickly in the NFL. If the Rams play it right, they could be a playoff team certainly by 2012, if not 2011.

:goodposting: On a side note, I miss Leinart already, Anderson is hot trash.

and one in 55 in first game as an NFL QB is fantastic.

55 attempts is awesome. For a rookie quarterback, my biggest concern is an overly conservative game plan. That clearly isn't going to be a big problem for Bradford.

Here's all 1st round rookie QB's who started day one:

Code:
player	Date Cmp Att Yds TD Int Rate Matthew Stafford 9/13/2009	16	37	205	0	3	27.4Mark Sanchez 9/13/2009	18	31	272	1	1	84.3Matt Ryan 9/7/2008	9	13	161	1	0	137Joe Flacco 9/7/2008	15	29	129	0	0	63.7Carson Palmer 9/12/2004	18	27	248	2	1	105.2Kyle Boller 9/7/2003	22	43	152	1	1	57.5David Carr 9/8/2002	10	22	145	2	1	78.8average 15.4	28.9	187.4	1.0	1.0	79.1
better than I would have expected, however only Flacco and Ryan avoided throwing a pick in game 1. Only Palmer and Carr had multiple TD passes.
Code:
player Date Cmp Att Yds TD Int Rate Sam Bradford 9/12/2010 32 55 253 1 3 53.1
wow i didnt expect 55 passes from the rook... i dont like the 4.6 yards per attempt...

I tuned in during the 2nd half and Sam only had to throw 2 passes to lead me to believe he'll be a stud some day.. his accuracy is deadly

Agreed 100% here. Kid was making pro veteran throws his first day out of the gates. Give him some experience and confidence, and a couple more weapons, and I won't be shocked to see him in the top 3-4 of fantasy QBs along with Peyton and Brees.

lets hope moss comes to stl!!...i realize hes a cancer to the locker room but he would no doubt make bradford a top 10 fantasy qb the rest of the year
