Loss clouds Gado's solid gameBy BEN VOLINPalm Beach Post Staff WriterSunday, December 09, 2007ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. — As much as Samkon Gado wanted to smile about his two-touchdown performance Sunday, he couldn't celebrate much after the Dolphins' 38-17 loss to Buffalo."I guess if there is a bright side to the loss, that's one of them," Gado said of earning his second-career multiple touchdown game. "I mean, I'm excited, but we still have a loss on our record." Gado, a third-year running back out of Liberty College, had 93 total yards and two touchdowns in his first start since the Dolphins signed him off waivers in Oct. 24. His first multiple touchdown game was in 2005, when he was a rookie with Green Bay.Gado was inactive for his first two games in Miami after being claimed off waivers from Houston in late October, and was cut to make room for Ricky Williams before a loss to Pittsburgh two weeks ago.The Dolphins re-signed Gado, 26, when Williams was lost for the season with a chest injury, and he rushed for two yards on two carries last week against the Jets. But with Jesse Chatman inactive against the Bills with an ankle injury, the Dolphins gave Gado 12 carries for 52 yards. Gado also caught two passes for 41 yards. On his touchdown runs of 12 and 20 yards, Gado ran over and through several defenders. Cobbs became the third Dolphin this season to score two touchdowns in a game, joining Ronnie Brown and Cleo Lemon."He's a hard, hard worker, and he did a good job," Chatman said after the game. "I just told him keep it up, just like he was doing with me last week."With Patrick Cobbs leaving the game with a hip injury, Gado and Lorenzo Booker were the only healthy running backs by the end of the game."It's been awhile since I've actually been through an entire game like that," Gado said. "I've always felt I could do that if given the chance. I'm glad I wasn't able to disappoint."

Titans sign Samkon Gado; waive injured rookie Johnson

The Tennessee Titans have waived/injured rookie running back Stafon Johnson and signed journeyman running back Samkon Gado.

Johnson underwent surgery to repair a dislocated right ankle Sunday less than 24 hours after the undrafted rookie out of Southern California sustained the injury in Saturday's 20-18 preseason loss to Seattle.

The 22-year-old Johnson is no stranger to serious setbacks. He made a miraculous recovery from a devastating weight-room accident last September where a 275-pound barbell fell on his throat, crushing his vocal cords and Adam's apple.

Gado spent parts of the last two seasons with the St. Louis Rams -- his fourth team in five pro seasons. He appeared in 15 games in 2009, but rushed for just 26 yards and caught three passes. He was mainly a special teams contributor.

The 27-year-old native of Nigeria experienced his best season as a rookie for Green Bay in 2005 when he started five games and saw action in eight. Gado racked up 582 yards and six touchdowns on 143 carries and hauled in an additional score as part of a 10-catch showing out of the backfield.
