Glad to see McGill back. Flashed a bit last year.49ers resign DT TY McGill and DB/Special Teams ace Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles to one year deals.
Wasn't Brock Purdy a comp pick last year? And Talanoa the year before?49ers in line for compensatory picks after free-agency losses

The 49ers currently are in line to be awarded four additional compensatory picks in the 2024 NFL Draft because of their net losses, OverTheCap.com projects.
The maximum number of draft picks any one team can be awarded for free-agent losses is four, and OTC projects the 49ers receiving picks at the ends of the third, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds.
Yep. Greenlaw too. This is pretty crazy tho, we basically swapped Beathard for Purdy. What a win.Wasn't Brock Purdy a comp pick last year? And Talanoa the year before?49ers in line for compensatory picks after free-agency losses

#49ers new kicker Zane Gonzalez, 27, acquired from the Panthers in a conditional swap of late-round 2025 draft picks, missed last season with a groin injury. Gonzalez must pass a physical for the trade to be executed.
Possible, but I’m not sure why they would since they just paid a pretty good one. Gonzalez was expected to be the K for the Panthers right up until his preseason injury. He’s a pretty solid kicker otherwise. Personal I’d rather they didn’t waste a pick. They'll draft a kicker and let the competition determine who gets the job IMO

I’d say Gonzalez is equivalent to Gould’s last 2 years, assuming good health.Possible, but I’m not sure why they would since they just paid a pretty good one. He missed the whole 2022 season with a groin injury and hasn't kicked in a game since Dec 2021. I wouldn't hand him the job by any means, and I'd bet the farm they sign or draft some competition.
He has a career FG percentage of 80.5%
Hes 95.8% on XP
40/59 (67.7%) on FGs 40+ yards
29/41 (70.7%) on 40-49yds,
11/18 (61%) 50+ yards
His career touchback % is 57.8%.
His longest career FG: 57 yds
For comparison here's Goulds numbers the past 6 years in SF:
Gould has a FG percentage with SF of 87.5%
Hes 96.1% on XP
68/86 (79%) on FGs 40+ yds
55/66 (83.3%) on 40-49 yds
13/20 (65%) on 50+ yds
His touchback % with SF is 41.2%
His longest FG with SF: 53 yds
Gould of course one of the best in the business, but I see Gonzalez a pretty decent step back if they roll with him without making him earn it.

Caserio could be replaced by Sonny Weaver Jr too. Just speculation mainly because of the Demeco Ryan’s connection.https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...e-texans-he-could-be-replaced-by-adam-peters/
Texans could chuck Caserio to pry Peters from us.
That, and Lynch could leave at any time and I'm sure Peters has been promised the spot when he does.Caserio could be replaced by Sonny Weaver Jr too. Just speculation mainly because of the Demeco Ryan’s connection.https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.c...e-texans-he-could-be-replaced-by-adam-peters/

Peters is a Bay Area guy and has a major role in personnel decision making. Unless he just wants the GM title, I think he stays in SF. I’m sure the 49ers compensate him generously.

If Gonzo beats him out it’ll be an even worse pick.Luxury pick. He won the Lou Groza award in 2021. Never missed an XP. 82% career on FG, 86.7% the last 2 years. His job to lose, imo, with Gonzalez as insurance.
Look at the bright side. You got a great kicker.Ugh...I'm unimpressed as I have been with most drafts. These guys just can't draft all that well. There are some huge holes in this team going into this year. Our qb might get killed.

I'm not worried about the OL playing well, but I am worried about the depth we have there, or lack thereof.YepThe history of the top rated kickers in the draft doesn't seem to be all that stellar.Look at the bright side. Hate to complain, but hated the pick. Too many good CB prospects still on the board. Like when they could have drafted CJ Gardner-Johnson in 2019 and traded down and ended up taking Wish. Makes no sense to me.
I do think the OL being bad is a bad take. I expect Banks and Burford to be good and Brendel is OK. Frankly I think McKivitz will be as good if not better than Glinch. Still expect them to add a FA depth piece after the draft.
