Santana Moss-WR- Redskins Sep. 30 - 11:07 pm et

The Redskins have reportedly signed Keenan McCardell. The Washington Post believes this may be an indication that Santana Moss (groin) will miss "at least a few games."

Moss reportedly wouldn't have been available had Washington been playing a game this weekend, and he's struggled with lower-body type injuries for some time now. Either McCardell or James Thrash would start if Moss misses any games. Check on his status during the week, but it doesn't look good. Jason Campbell's value would take a big hit without Moss.

when it initially came out that McCardell was in for some workouts is was said to be precautionary just in case Moss could not play they had a WR not named Brandon Lloyd able to fill in.I've heard nothing as to Moss's injury status though. I think that this is a indication that if Moss plays next week he will at least be a bit limited.

 oh wait that's the other ex-Charger guy.

*sigh* naturally I have him in both of my leagues.

Let's tally it up:

S Jax times 2

S Moss times 2

McAllister

Caddy

Jordan

and the season is still young

Rotoworld is really not accurately portraying that Washington Post story. It's true Moss limped off the field at the end of the Giants game and he did say if they played this past week he would probably be unable to go. But other than that we don't know the severity of the injury but I do know he did not have an MRI done and no one thinks it's a tear, just a sore groin. This COULD put him in danger of not playing this week(against the best matchup he'll have all year) and it COULD cause issues for him all year. But what that Washington Post writer said was my first thought was when they signed Mcardell was Moss is hurt and than he went on to write that this probably spells bad news for Lloyd. Shefter said the same thing last week. So while I can't tell you Moss is fine, the truth is the Skins were getting nothing from their 3rd WR and beyond and they needed to bring someone in and I think this has more to do with that than Moss being hurt.

McCardell For Stoutmire/Santana Hurting (UPDATED)

Looked like Omar was saying his goodbyes in the locker room this morning and the players are all assuming Keenan McCardell will be signed. (Found out that Omar was informed he is being released, but that if he's available and any safeties get hurt, he would be re-signed. they like him a lot but he's caught in a numbers crunch.

Guess that will be announced before practice, which starts late today (4:30 ish). But it is done.

MCCardell just walked inside Redskins Park. Looked like he was coming back from taking his physical.

Also, Santana Moss was far less than certain that his groin injury would be healed in time for Sunday's game and was unsure when he would return to practice.

The source for that is Jason LaCanfora's Redskin blog: Link
My first instinct is this could mean Santana is going to miss at least a few games,
