Saw a random jersey today (1 Viewer)

Saw a red, AFC Pro Bowl jersey with the #6 on it. Looked to be new or in very good condition. I saw the last name when the guy passed me on the street, but seriously, I wonder if I ever would have guessed it.

Guesses?

The only #6 I can remember was a Bears kicker. Not AFC and I can't remember his name anyway.

gotta be a K or P, right? If I saw this guy, I'd HAVE to see the back. Shayne Graham?
I'm glad I'm not the only one. I had to walk out of my way and cut off three people just to make sure I saw the back before he passed. I wonder if I ever would have guessed it; probably would have googled before I spent too much time (although not sure that would have worked). And no, not Graham.

If Carson Palmer made the Pro Bowl the same year as Steve McNair, chances are he simply turned his #9 upside-down.

The veterans get first dibs.

McNair got the cheapest Pro Bowl invite ever in 2005, the year Palmer made the Pro Bowl. But, of course, Palmer didn't play in that game. And McNair didn't join Palmer in HI last year.

This would have to be from at least 3 years ago because they started wearing their regular numbers even if they duplicated.

Complete wild guess: Elvis Grbac?

Drew Brees, going by the same "9 upside down" theory?
It was not worn by a player who normally wears 9.BTW, I feel vindicated. I just checked, and this player does not normally wear #6. AFAIK, he wore the number exactly one time in his life. So I guess no reason to feel bad about not knowing it.

In light of this, and my desire to avoid this ending up life golf holes, I'm gonna give the answer in a minute. I don't think there's much skill involved anymore (although you could try and figure out what QBs have worn 7 and what lesser QBs made the Pro Bowl the same year that also wore 7). Gonna try and find a confirmation pic...

Will SHields wore #6 in 2002

Ogden wore 7

ETA: I don't think there has been any other #6 since 2001

It was 1998, the year Elway made the Pro Bowl.I can't find anything to confirm online that our mystery QB actually wore #6 in the Pro Bowl, but I can't fathom why someone would custom design a jersey this way, so I have to assume he did. I'd imagine because Elway wore 7, he wore 6.

He also owns the most obnoxious and pompous website evah!

BTW, Moon wore #2 in that Pro Bowl. What's up with that? I can only imagine Gary Anderson (who wears 1 and did make the Pro Bowl) had already snagged up the number, but you think he'd let the elder Moon (can you believe Moon is 3 years older than Anderson!) wear it. I have seen some reports that Moon was an alternate, so that might explain it.

Moon wearing #2

Scratch that; Moon made the '97 pro bowl, played in february'98. So that's a different Pro Bowl than Flutie's, and I don't think Anderson made the PB in '97. So I wonder why Moon wore #2.And why can't I find any pictures from the '98 Pro Bowl, played in February '99?

Team photo, though not a good one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1998_Pro_Bowl

Cut him some slack. He couldn't get www.dougflutie.com because a squatter has it.

There are probably a bunch of people who'd be willing to bet he never made a Pro Bowl.

NFL missed the boat on him when he came out.
