Mentioned this league last week in another thread. Waivers options are limited. I've got David and Franklin as my 1/2 punch at LB. Had Troy Williams and Pace both go to IR, and Dorian Williams has largely disappeared since Milano's return. I'm stuck choosing between Ventrell Miller (JAC), J.J. Russell (TB), and Jon Rhattigan (CAR) for my LB3 this week.
Miller was scoring pretty consistently, but his points (and snap share) has gone progressively down as of late. Last week shows no defensive snaps and 1.5 pts (I'm assuming something on ST's). With Oluokun and Lloyd both playing, he seems to be the odd man out.
Russell has been OK, but not spectacular, the past few weeks with TB's LB group pretty decimated with injury. He's projected to score 9-ish points this week, which I would probably take in a heartbeat.
Rhattigan is possibly flying under the radar in CAR, where they sent two LB's (Cherelus and Wallace) to IR just this week. Cherelus scored 14 pts last week, and I originally read that Rhattigan was the next man up to take his place. Sounds like that may have been premature, since some dude named Cam Gill out-snapped Rhattigan 19-1 after Cherelus' departure against the Cowboys.
So, all things, considered, and since I'm more concerned with high floor than shooting for the stars in terms of ceiling, I think going with the TB duo (Russell in addition to David) might be the safe play, no? Dallas seems to be doing OK on offense, with LB's scoring decent against them and their recent running success with Dowdle.
My other option would be to just start two LB, and go with three DL (Cooper DEN, Hunter HOU, and Rousseau BUF). But, while Hunter and Rousseau have been hot lately, Cooper has been so-so, and I think Russell's 6-7 pt floor might be the safe play.
Thoughts?
